My ride-VS commo, Just finishing the manual conversion. Working out those annoying bits!
I know alot of people will be turned off by this (mainly the old school fans of 80's and early 90's) but I say bring it on.
It's a shame Toyota haven't decided to jump on board, I thought they would have been the first.
Commodores, Falcons and Maximas?
Are they not using skylines?
I was wondering what motor they will use too.

I would think they would have to use a 4 door sedan? I know the VE had to have the rear door and the roof line chopped. I'm not sure for what reason though, but possibly to be more inline with the FG?
I am assuming that the Maxima would be the closest spec to the Falcodore.
Manufacturers can use an existing engine from Holden or Ford (Formula 1 style), or can modify their own V8 engine to spec.
Car of the Future. Welcome to Australian Nascar. Will be a barely recognizable Toyota badged car with a control V8 motor. Woop di do.

I see what you mean and I agree, although i did find a thing called a Skyline crossover (4door), look like a SUV though..

I thought TRD would bring some of it's US V8 racing pedigree to the table the moment the window of opportunity opened too!
I saw years ago a doco on toyota's involvement in I think it was NASCAR and wondered why they hadn't tried racing in our V8 supercars when i saw it.
Control chassis control body control suspension control motor. Sounds fun.

stroking is fine but id rather be blown
I went last year but not going this year.... it's great fun thoughI know. I got my 4 day pass yesterday! I haven't been since 2003 I think.
Don't see whats wrong with keeping it just Holden and Ford.
I know the Jap fan boys has flown off their tree about it, ohhh no its Gozjilllaaaaa.
The thing they have to remember is that back in 1992 a R32 skyline, XF falcon and a VN commodore were two different beasts, Now the gap is probly pretty marginal. I say there will be some very close racing.
