Default Just announced - Steven Richards To Drive For FPR

    Just heard on the wireless:

Steven will replace Jason Bright in 2007 and will drive for FPR beside Mark Winterbottom.

I suppose Steven just strives for excellence with whoever he races for and whatever he races.

Still a shame to lose him to the Ford pack.... he wasn't always on the front row - but he can drive a good race...

This was one of the worst kept secrets of the year in the V8 field.
Seems Perkins is the new recruiting agent for Ford, first Ingall now Richards. But FPR have done very well and they're car seems to be getting stronger each year so Steven hasn't made a backwards step.

Weren't there murmers of this late last year? Someone told me it he was going to ford, just didn't know which team.

Not that it matters, the cars are basically the same now with different badges.

Lol, some people don't see it that way, they thrive on the rivalry between holden and ford and will see this differently.

That's pretty good, we got my brother a couple a few years back, one of team brocks and one of larrys castrol ones.
They'd be worth a bit now i reckon.

It was actually just the 2nd car. And it was due to Alan Gurr having some sort of arguement with Morris (as far as i could gather), also didn't help that he kept out qualifying Morris, no Team Owner/driver likes the rookie showing him up.

Either way, no substitute for experience, so it couldn't be a bad thing for Price and Perkins.

Aslo agree with the above, larry could show em a thing or 2

I agree. I'm hearing a lot of people saying it is a bad move to have 2 rookies in the team, especially at the same time as they bring in a new car. But the other teams don't have Larry. If he does some testing, I am sure he can pick up some of what the boys will miss, and they can get a lot more out of the cars that way. And the PR potential is huge, especially if they fluke (maybe, maybe not) a few top-ten qualifying results, (boo no shootouts any more except for the enduros) or some good race results. Someone on another forum also pointed out that both boys have excellent records with bringing home straight machinery. (Bathurst being the ONLY exception we could think of!)

It was only the main game car that ended up damaged.
Both their cars in the fujitsu series were still shiney and new after the weekend.

But also it was only that ONE time that ANY of the cars they drove got damaged - they did several other main series events between them (even back to Jack @ the AGP) without incident (that I remember). Bloody good effort, and good luck to them
