Just wondering if anybody else is thinking the championship is pretty much finished, with only three rounds completed. Already it seems that anyone who isnt in the top three might as well use the rest of the season as a test session for next year. With the new points system from fourth down hasn't a chance of catching up.
nah i reckon the new points system is good, its just that the toll/hsv team have been driving/racing bloody awesome over the last 3 rounds same with todd kelly, skaifey would be there too except he is probly the worst driver for starts, he gets swamped every race and loses at least 2 places... but to answer your question, the championship definantly aint over, it just comes down to who is the best driver and team on the day and so far it has been all toll/hsv, but im still goin for good ol' skaifey!!!
this year havin u cant drop any rounds all its gonna take is for Prick garth or toad or any 1 else for that matter to have a shocker of a round and there r a few ppl rite back in it and yes i think the new points system is good rewards those who are willing to race.
The season is far from over, we still have the endurance races to go, which are aways ful of suprises, especially with the new points system
The same thing across most racing points systems. Casey Stoner is in front on the bikes - but can he win the title? Only the top 5 after the first handful of rounds have a chance anyway in any championship. If you are not winning from the start it can be a long season. Only the very best can make it after a slow start to a season. (EG the likes of Rossi)

Its good to see Skaife is back in the races this year. Back end of last years season he was having a bit of trouble staying on the road...
It's definitely not over! it's only getting started. the new points system is working well; it's letting everyone have a good solid go and puts more emphasis on Qualifying and pit stops than actual racing.
what is over is good TV Coverage - Channel 7's is crap coverage. ten never cut races for other TV shows, why should 7 be allowed to cut a race and f*** up Garth's round win for supposed "live" football. Seven shouldnt have put its fingers in so many sports pies if it cant handle telecast times...
Ten has won logies for it's telecast of Bathurst - Seven has a LOT of catching up to do before then if they want to keep audiences....
(sorry if that deserved a new thread!)

Yeah i was extremely pissed off to have that race cut short. Im in no shape or form an AFL fan (Rugby League boy from Queensland living amongst AFL nuts) so it was even worse.
7 wanted all these sporting events and now they cant even show them. If they screw up any more races i think they will lose the contract very very quickly.
Dont even get me started about channel 7's coverage
I cant complain about the coverage here at all. We used to have to wait until 10.30 three days later just to watch the highlights. Now the commentating etc may be crap but at least I can watch the races.
