STEWARDS UPDATE 1: 1200hrs Friday 19th October

Matters arising from Practice 1:

Following an investigation and an admission by Mark Skaife (Car #2) and Rick Kelly
(Car #1) that they had each failed to reduce speed for the display of a yellow flag, the Stewards excluded both Drivers from the Practice 1 Results and fined each driver $1,000.

The Mechanical Black Flag was displayed to Car #18 Will Davison for a loose mirror.

Matters arising from Practice 2:

Flag signals were displayed as follows:
• Mechanical Black Flag to Car #4 James Courtney for a loose mirror.

STEWARDS UPDATE 3: 2030hrs Friday 19th October

Matters arising from Qualifying:

Following an investigation and a Stewards hearing, the Stewards found Prodrive Aust Pty Ltd Car #5 Mark Winterbottom in breach of Rule C7.12.11, in that the ignition timing exceeded the permitted maximum advance. The Stewards imposed the penalty of Exclusion from Qualifying.

Following application by Cameron McConville Car #50 for permission to start Race 1 after he failed to qualify, the Stewards granted permission to start rear of grid.

I only wish the Bathurst result was that good. To see Winterbottom convert
a hat trick of poles ( Sandown, Bathurst, Indy ) into nothing, zip, zilch, nada was a laugh riot.

It was deliciouly capped on Sunday when Whincups ambition got the better him and he DNF'd.
