did any Sydney siders go?

Ive just spent 3 days there, got there at 7am on Friday to find that my favourite tent spot had been claimed 12 hours earlier!!!!

But I found a good spot near the dog leg and strangely I setup next to the same tent that was setup next to me last year on the opposite side of the track!!!

I'll upload photos when I get em.

But apart from that, whats peoples thoughts?

Was good to see Skaifey drive as a driver and not a team owner in the last race to come from last to 12th. I knew he still had it in him. and for Tander and HRT to upset Fords 150th Round win on a day where everything was supposed to go their way anyway was icing on the cake

I didnt go but made sure I watched it on tele. Skaifes drive was amazing. To come from the back of the back to 12th was fantastic, good to see him finish his last race in style.

I had a little bit of water in the corner of my eye watching him get out of that car, him talking with tears in his eyes.

where were you hayden? Shoulda said something earlier and stayed in le corporate tent which was complete with its own BBQ and dining area today, especially when the rain came down!!!

yeh the burnouts were good, as good as a ford could do anyway.

Strange thing happened tho, they released the orange/black streamers for the champion photo, which was waaaay over the other side of the track.

The wind blew them across the track and into our path. We tried to grab some without luck.

One of my mates said "wouldnt it be strange if we went to the car and found one sitting there"

We begin to packup then head to the car, and strangely here was this 5cm piece of orange streamer sitting on the layer of dust between the rear passenger window and the window seal.

Hmm perhaps a good sign for next year or something? Its strange that it travelled all the way from the winners podium, across the track, across our heads, and found its way onto my car ... and stayed there for 20 minutes

i would have said something but it was more a spare of the moment decision.


found out we had free tickets this morning and decided to head out there.

Great to see Holden rain on Fords parade...pity Jaimies car didnt let go in race one....Paul Morris fixed him up in the last race .Cant see too much difference between what Tander did in the first race at the start and Jaimie in the second.
Hope we can be more of a force next year...maybe we can get some slack from avesco or the blue eyed stewards.

good to see Tander and HRT have the last laugh. sure is a shame about Skaife. now i feel for the guy since we know what he's been going through, i always though the team ownership deal was to much for him and it effected his driving. as ussual, TV coverage here in NZ was fairly average and i worked last night so i didn't see the last race at all.

anyhoo was a full tent by the time some work mates and others turned up, plus the overflow from next doors tent joined in when the rain came down and their tent was gate crashed
