I got to race Steven richards!!

Yeh kinda a shock but this time last night I was racing with Steve Richards.

Basically theres a supplier network for the automotive industry who has a go kart championship throughout the year. Last night was the grand finale held at eastern creek karts.

Our company got to attend as a guest, as we're one of the major suppliers to the network.

anyway basically your supposed to send 2 people to race, 2 people to watch. At 4pm my boss asked if I wanted to go at 4:30 in place of one of the managers, of course I said yes!!! The deal was I just sit and watch ...

Once we got there I signed up as a driver for a laugh. As it turns out they needed more drivers anyway. Richo was there care of Castrol, and Lee Holdsworth and Michael Caruso were there care of Valvoline, although I barely saw the latter 2.

Anyway had a good chat with Richo over dinner about everything from cars to V8 Supercars, his Audi, the oran park track day next month, Bathurst, boats, fishing, my car, even sydney peak hour traffic and good spots for dinner.

We then had 2 races, with the top 6 then racing the V8 drivers.

We then had an hour long enduro, which was 15 mins on track, then pit stop, jump out, next driver in and go.

During the race my fastest lap time was 56.75 which wasnt too bad overall considering the race 1 and 2 was basically like a qualifying, and the enduro was a race. This was my first time in 15hp go karts which have some balls and stop, something I rarely get on hire karts!!

But I was and still am wrapped, I have the time sheets here with my time against Steves, Lees and Michaels and I was acctually on a go kart track for half an hour of my life with a V8 Supercar driver, with a fastest lap time that almost rivals them !!!
