Speaking with a mate who helped engineer the rear safety barrier and gun rack. He told me that to get the exact shape of the rear they kerffed the steel section for the out line with cuts every 5mm, in some places at all angles to the section. They then pulled it out, filled all the kerfs (mig) and polished till it looked as if born that way. I think he said it only needed 1 extra mounting hole to be provided, the rest just bolts in...
Sound like it did the job.![]()

Don't let Gillard see that - imagine the Carbon Tax she'd put on it!
I was at outer harbour today and took some photos of an unusual amount of black chevrolet caprice's ready to be loaded on to ships, I suspect they are headed for the u.s.
I counted about 50 black ones and 20 white ones

and to europe and asia. the reason I posted this is because I regularly visit outer harbour and usually there are a variety of different colours of commodore and caprice ready for loading, however as seen in these pics I have never seen so many plain black ones before and I assumed MAYBE the start of the police caprice export ready for the 2011 release in the U.S.

I wish the police forces in each state in Australia would do this, who would have thought a purpose built cop car would be good? Instead we get a pajero with a steel cage in the back a crap panasonic toughbook mobile data terminal on a big steel bracket that impedes into passenger space or a commodore or falcon with the same minus the cage. They just dont give a shit.
This car looks great, love the in dash data terminal.
i wouldn't mind one of those ESPECIALLY if the inside was exactly like that - you know - with the firearms within reach haha
