They shouldve released them under the old Poor Man's HSV banner the Manta.
^ You should be boss of Holden
yeah maybe an omega with a V8 option with some alloys and maybe a better looking kit. Stock Omega kits look sh**house.
Not competing with the GS...pfft..
how many GS's was ford releasing?? and how many of these are holden releasing?
too many similarities i think
"And i gave that man directions, even though i didn't even know the way; because thats the kinda guy i am today"
i want to see this rear bar. could be better than the normal hsv one which is fugly
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
Soooo.. I think the cheaper version looks better?
Same power, no ugly vents in the rear bumper, and a lip spoiler... sure sure smaller brakes and doesnt have the updated stability control, but its not as if that means it'll handle like crap.
plus........ its cheaper![]()
they couldve saved more money not putting those stupid lights in the front and then this thing might have looked good

Theyre just making HSV's less and less exclusive by the day.
^^ Agreed...
They shouldn't be undercutting HSV's like this, there is always going to be a market for high end car's that HSV produce so what good is going to come of making 'less quality cars for lower prices, all to just get a slice of another market which would otherwise be out of the question due to price'.
In my opinion, you either have the money for an HSV or not, if you don't have the money, buy an SV8 or SS.
They're just trying to get rid of all the excess g8's aren't they?
Its not a new thing to make hsv more 'affordable'
ie. XU6 & Manta.

At the end of the day their job is to maximise profits. People who can afford a SS will look at these and think ohh its only a little bit extra.

Why couldn't they just build an SS with HSV engine brakes and suspension tune. Charge $7000-$8000 more.
Speaking of Omega V8's. I just found a VZ Executive V8, Not the SV8 before it shared the SV6 body kit, An actually V8 Executive in the VZ. Someone was very lucky.

I also think part of the reason behind these is the fallout from the G8 deal going south in the US.
Thus the new SSV's they are releasing and these GXP HSV's
Think of it this way, you've still getting a tough HSV for cheaper. Seems like a win to me!
The other thing I like about these, looking at the supplied picture... I don't see a massive spoiler on the sedan's boot... just a lipWIN!
Except that the SS-V looks 100x better than any recent HSV. You'd have to be crazy to spend more money on a car that looks like that. Spend the extra dosh on your own brake upgrade![]()

Yeah, the Special Edition SSV's are pretty good looking. Wouldn't mind one of those...
