Australia's high performance car manufacturer Holden Special Vehicles is pleased to announce the launch of its new E Series 3, featuring a host of Australian production car firsts, and interior upgrades to the HSV range.
Leading the highlight list are three brand new HSV technologies;
- HSV’s new Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI) which streams vehicle performance data directly to the new touch screen display
- Liquid Propane Injection (LPI) is the first system of its kind on an Australian production car, and is available as an option on all models, except for the Clubsport R8 Tourer
- HSV’s new Side Blind Zone Alert (SBZA), will be available as an option on every model in the E3 range – and is standard on Grange
In addition to technological innovation, HSV has added a significant set of unique interior updates to the E Series 3, including;
- New 'Oracle' dash
- New model specific stainless steel ID plate on the centre console
- New twin-stitch seat trims on GTS and Senator Signature, as well as a new leather colour in Turismo Rosso
- New binnacle gauges
- Piano black trim on the centre console and steering wheel
The final stand-out aspect of the E Series 3 range is a raft of new standard features being offered on all HSV models, specifically;
- Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI)
- Reverse camera with rear park assist
- Satellite navigation
- Touchscreen radio with iPod connectivity
HSV's Managing Director, Phil Harding, believes the new E3 range has reached a new level of sophistication and continues the company's long history of innovation.
"Our E3 range is an example of HSV’s passion for innovation, and determination to bring world leading technology to vehicles," he said.
"You only have to look at EDI, LPI, and SBZA to know HSV is passionate about creating and building great all-round performance cars. More and more of our customers are showing greater interest in new technology, and have expressed a desire for unique points of difference in their vehicles".
"The combination of new technologies, stylish interior improvements, and a continued focus on all-round performance further strengthens HSV’s position as the ultimate in Australian-made performance cars".
HSV's new E Series 3 will begin to arrive in showrooms at the end of this month.

I like it very nice.
I also love it. My only issue is that in the photo the drivers seat look a little cheap. If you look at a few Mercs and Beamers and stuff, the seats are very smooth when not in use.

Chev badges are an instant fail
very damn nice indeeds
hmmm im going to go against you all and say that it looks pretty damn rank...
rear and interior is good, front bar looks pretty yuk
verynice except the front is a bit off putting. i suppose we will get used to it though
front looks terrible back wing is plain and the inside looks shabby and the same.
sory the ve still isnt my thing.. perhaps in the future it will grow on me
Looks like a VE had sex with a Lancer, then thier child was raised on rice.. Looks fat, jap an ugly, AN WTF IS THAT COLOUR? Banana?
i'm not tailgating, i'm keeping up with the pace car
What the hell have they done to it. Looked so tough then they went and destroyed the look completely.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
sign me up for some of that. any day.
I JUST WANT ONE!!.......Well a Grange actually
Loving the interior, but it's too over the top. And I hate myself for saying it. Less is sometimes more, take a look at the VX Clubby, in my opinion one of the best looking holdens ever (right behind the VX GTS Coupe) there is nothing but what is needed to make it look tough as nuts and set it apart from the standard car. The first E series HSV's are very sexy but instead of re-designing the exterior, HSV have just seemed to add more unneeded crap. Go back to the blueprint of taking a commodore and toughening it up, stop with all the ricer shit and pimp trinkets.

I can take it or leave it. I want to know why HSV have to go so "over the top" with the appearance, interior trim and colours. They have gradually become more and more weird with each successive model. Look at the European super sedans like the AMG's, M Series and Audis - they have mumbo, refinement, quality and big price tags. Sure, the VE is cheap(ish) by comparison, but why does it have to look cheap?
If HSV really wanted to upgrade the perceived quality of the cars, instead of just upping the grunt and funny body bits, why not redesign some of the cheap interior plastics to elevate the cars above Holden standards inside? I think the pre VE HSV's were more balanced in appearance than the current design.
I think its butt ugly to be truthful. The rims are horrendous, and the front & rear bumpers totally complete the horror package. VE1 is much better IMO. Time for HSV to get rid of the uni graduate styling gurus and get back to what looks good. It ain't hard.
That would have to be the ugliest Holden i have ever seen.....I didn't think it was possible to make an uglier car than the last VE HSV's but apparently it's possible. Absolutely woeful!
wicked - I want to see one in BLACK
After Holden made the VE i thought how ugly and then there was the E2 series i didnt think anything could get uglier or more fat looking.
I guess I was wrong.
Edit: VY HSV Series ftw!!
