Announced as part of the Holden Ute's 60th anniversary celebration, the Thunder Ute will be available in SV6 and SS trim - with an added $3000 worth of special features thrown into the deal.
In both SV6 and SS spec, the Thunder Ute features 19-inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation, leather seat bolsters and special-edition Thunder badges and logos inside and out.
“It is a really bold, tough looking ute which we think will appeal to many of our traditional sports ute buyers," Holden Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales John Elsworth said.
As with the regular SV6 and SS Utes, the Thunder ute is offered with Holden's 210kW/350Nm 3.6 litre SIDI petrol V6 and the 270kW/530Nm 6.0 litre petrol V8.
A six-speed manual transmission is standard with both engines, and a six-speed automatic can be had as an option.
Safety features include driver and passenger side airbags, side impact airbags and side curtain airbags. The Holden Ute range carries a 5 Star ANCAP crash safety rating.

Not a clue why I wrote Storm. Lol
Id love one in hazard (because I'm in love with that colour) with black stripes.
Sooooooooooo from that I can see, the biggest difference between a Thunder and an SS is the price. Beyond that they have a Thunder badge and that is basically it?
Holden say $3k of special features, being storm badges, 19's, leather seat bolsters and sat nav. Must be expensive things.. Lol
I think it's just Holden desperate for money, all those 'special features' will cost nothing to holden to throw in, but they still jack up the price massively...
yep. another parts bin special. you"d think they were"nt selling many utes? when in fact its the opposite.. selling their arses off the last time i checked.
im out of my mind at the moment...please leave a message
5k for the auto??? How the fsck do Holden justify that when it is 2k for the ZF with falcons?

but the SSV wheels are painted a different colour!!!!!! totally worth more money.....not really
You people don't understand. It's a limited edition. /sarcasm
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
They don't sell them at a bank.... You would have to go to a Holden dealer. NFI what a bank has to do with it.
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
give it 5 years and you will pick it up cheap... ive still got the reciept from the 1st owner of my WH caprice, drive away he paid $70,000 brand new in 2002, in early 2007 i paid 21,000 for it (2nd owner)
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
Nah. I keep wads of $50's, it's better insulation![]()
In 5 years I should be able to afford it![]()
Please tell me they aren't fitting it with those poxy LEDS.
I remeber when thunders were actually tough and looked good. Then again that applies for the whole current Holden line...
