Default Racing spirit celebrated in special HSV models

From the first day HSV opened its doors for business, motor racing has been intricately woven into the very fabric of the company’s existence.

This race bred heritage has now inspired the release of three limited edition HSV models that are designed to celebrate the unique ‘race relations’ link between on-track success and on-road success.

    • Holden Racing Team Edition ClubSport
    • Toll HSV Dealer Team ClubSport
    • Mark Skaife Senator Signature Edition

Limited to just 50 vehicles each, they offer customers (enthusiasts and collectors, alike) an exclusive proposition in more ways than one. These models mark the very last of the Z Series ClubSport and Senator series to roll off HSV’s Clayton production line and, in the case of the two limited edition ClubSports, they are unapologetic in their unique race team and performance oriented specification packages.

    Limited edition ClubSport models
The HRT Edition ClubSport highlights its genetic makeup with a paint finish in the primary team colour, ‘Sting Red’, complemented by ‘White’ body accenting, HRT Helmet/Lion logos on the rear spoiler, ‘White’ five-spoke alloy wheels and unique badging.

The bloodline of the Toll HSV Dealer Team ClubSport is no less obvious. Distinctive ‘Orange’ body accenting contrasts superbly with the ‘Phantom Black’ paint finish which is joined by five-spoke alloy wheels in “Iron Frost” a pair of ‘HSV Dealer Team’ logos on the rear spoiler and unique badging.

Like their race team relatives, the under skin specifications are all about peak performance. Here there’s no better way to start than with HSV’s exclusive, high output 6.0litre LS2 V8 (297kW @ 6000rpm and 530Nm @ 4400rpm) coupled to a Tremec M12 six-speed manual transmission. For a precise, sporting chassis response to match there’s HSV Performance Suspension (as fitted to ClubSport R8 models), a set of semi competition Yokohama tyres and an HSV Power Steering Oil Cooler.

Consistently, powerful stopping performance is assured with the fitment of an HSV Premium Braking System. It boasts jumbo-sized ventilated and cross-drilled discs and four piston front and rear callipers which, in this instance, are finished in matching ‘Red’ for HRT and ‘Orange’ for Toll HSV DT.

    Special features
    • Team specific paint colour, body accenting and badging package.
    • Red Sport Cloth (HRT), Grey Sport Cloth (HSVDT) Interior.
    • 18 X 8-inch, five-spoke P48 alloy wheels in team specific colour.
    • Semi competition 235/40 R18 tyres.
    • Six-speed manual transmission only.
    • HSV Performance Suspension.
    • HSV Power Steering Oil Cooler.
    • HSV Premium Braking System.
    • Brake callipers painted in team specific colours.

    Mark Skaife Senator Signature Edition
Like the five-time Australian Touring Car Champion (not to mention five-time Bathurst victor) its been designed to honour, the Mark Skaife Senator Signature Edition is all about smooth, fluent style backed up with an emphatic and inspiring driving experience.

All 50 of these unique vehicles will come in ‘Phantom Black’ body colour with the sophisticated Z Series Senator’s ‘Luxury Performance’ styling package boasting subtle but effective enhancements courtesy of ‘Chrome Shadow’ body accenting, HSV badging and GTS-style bright grille mesh front and rear. The distinctive appearance is set off with a special ‘Chrome Shadow’ finish on the elegant ten-spoke, 19-inch alloy wheels.

The limited edition package adds the confidence inspiring stopping power of HSV’s Premium Braking System including each of the front and rear four-piston callipers finished in ‘Black’ and embossed with a ‘Gold’ HSV. Night driving should be easier and safer thanks to the new-age lighting of HSV High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon driving lamps. They produce up to three times as much light output as conventional halogen lamps, illuminating further down the road and allowing earlier detection of potential hazards.

Finally, there’s also the convenience of HSV’s onboard TPM (Tyre Pressure Monitoring) System which dynamically monitors tyre pressures and temperatures and will ensure that the driver receives a swift warning should they move outside preset limits.

Limited edition models reflect the racing spirit
The creation of the Holden Racing Team, in 1990, was a major milestone as the closely linked organisations set a parallel course that led to outstanding growth and success in their respective fields. More recently, the launch of the Toll HSV Dealer Team has further served to enrich the racing heritage.

This hand-in-hand partnership has seen a strong ‘winning’ culture develop across the organisations, while the integration of race winning engineering lessons into HSV’s world-class, high performance vehicle DNA has shown positive proof that racing does advance the breed.

    Special features
    • ‘Phantom Black’ paint colour, body accenting and badging package.
    • ‘Nappa” soft feel leather 25 units in Light Reed and 25 units in Anthracite
    • GTS-style bright grilles mesh front and rear.
    • ‘Chrome Shadow’ wheel finish.
    • HSV Premium Braking System.
    • ‘Black‘ painted brake callipers with ‘Gold’ HSV embossing.
    • HSV HID Xenon driving lamps.
    • HSV Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

    "I Just Want One!"

By the way Guys. The Sydney motor show was also very poor in October. Obviously a trend is occuring within the motor industry.
    Now for a prayer...

To our god, who art made in Adelaide. Holden be thy name. Thy legends come, and championships won, on circuits as it is on Mount Panorama. Give us this day our daily grunt, and forgive us our burnouts, as we forgive those who choose to drive fords. Lead us into temptation, and deliver us a V8. For thine is the spirit, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever.
    HOLDEN!
