Australia’s favourite car will be stacked with $6000 extra value and a sportier edge with the new Commodore SVZ special edition sedan and wagon.
Due to hit showrooms in April, SVZ offers refined sports styling and outstanding value from $32,990 for the sedan and from $34,990 for the wagon – drive away.
Based on the best-selling Executive model, the SVZ editions will provide a range of features and options setting them apart from the crowd.
Popular additions such as 17-inch alloy wheels (steel spare), air conditioning, rear power windows, 6-disc in dash CD player and rear spoiler (sedan only) will become standard.
Both models feature a Berlina-style front fascia with fog lamps, adding an extra touch of styling class for buyers.
Holden Marketing Director, John Elsworth, today said special edition Commodore SVZ sedans and wagons represented exceptional value.
“Commodore has been Australia’s top selling car for a decade and SVZ maximises bang for buck on what are already our most popular Commodore
variants,” Mr Elsworth said.
“We expect SVZ to move as fast as the special SSZ and CV8-Z Monaro performance packs released last year. It’s a great chance to get into Commodore with many of the most requested options and accessories as standard.”
SVZ sedans and wagons will all be produced with the 172 kilowatt Alloytec all-alloy 3.6L V6 engine and four-speed automatic transmission.
Seven colors will be offered - Quicksilver metallic, Odyssey metallic (dark mercury silver), Shanghai mica (mid red), Glaze mica (blue silver), Impulse mica (blue), Heron White and Phantom Mica (black).

walking the tightrope between good and evil
weren't the ssz and cv8z built "extra special" to clear surplus monaro parts?
meh, I can't afford one anyways.....![]()

by the looks of them they are to clear out excess berlina parts
I cant beleive that holdens find it acceptable to leave thos FVCKEN crappy roof strip lines there from vt onwards its cheap as OMG just fill them in properly please holden
someone should of lost their job for that idea
nothing to new
What is this strip, I dont see anything wrong with the car?Originally Posted by yosy
You know the roof line strips like the roof is a single pannel with the sides on and a cheap ass plastic strips covering the seam youl see them every model vt onwards
The vt is an awsome looking car just those strips were really cheap
Good price. The headlights are standard exec and not the bezelled type.
I wish Holden would revise their colour range. What were they thinking with that government bus colour Odyssey![]()
VE II SS-V Sportwagon
they always do that. the svz has vyii calais rims, the vy equipe had vx calais rims, the vz lumina has vz sv8 rims, the vz equipe has vx ss rims....goes on and on right back to the vt which had those vs calais rims that i have now replaced with a vx berlina setOriginally Posted by TheForgotten
much better in my opinion.
no way! that colour is awesome! its kicks the crap out of that turbine mica colour from the vy series (which it replaced i believe). turbine is the worst colour they have ever had. buses are white where i live anyway, maybe thats the difference.Originally Posted by Thumpin
anyway, even if they are just getting rid of surplus parts at least thats a good price (compared with the exec which has less but costs more). well, ignoring new car depreciation which ive posted on before..... depreciation bites
i dont think the vy2 calais wheels suit it really..

VE II SS-V Sportwagon
vy calais II mags are nice, i wouldnt mind some for my vn calais :P lol
VY works currently in PRODUCTION!!
Engine will still be sloow!!!!! ;-)
whoa svz looks nice! I dont like the rear spoiler wing! rims and suspension are hot as..
Does it come in manual?
Does it come in that nice purple colour?
It's actually a sweet ride.. just a few points though.
1: the hand brake and gear knob are satin finished, yet the steering wheel isnt, nor are the door vents or door handles..
2: the audio system is a bit weak, 6 speaker. 2 tweeters in dash, 4 speakers in door pods (2 front & 2 rear). They should have used the parcel shelf.
3: no kick plate under the glove box to protect the air box and harness. (apparently from what i have seen, no current vz commy has this)
4: no glove box lighting yet the holes are there and open (not plugged)
still, it's a nice car for a six.. have already ordered all the satin finish items, rear parcel shelf from a calais and sv6/8 tail lights. The back needs something to distinguish it from an exec.. more than just the bumper and exhaust tip. The sides look a little plain with no badging, strips or contrasted colours.
It has calais sports suspension which makes it a tight car for turns. Mind you I have only had the car for 5 days so can't really give much of a performance briefing..
Colors are limited (as per GMH website).
Upgrade to full leather trim is as per the exec even though its partial leather anyway. The cloth inserts actually suit the leather so its a reasonable trade off.
at 32990 inc all charges and on road costs.. it rips the bottom out of the standard exec which is book price 34700 with out air or stacker or power rear windows.
and.. as for those black strips on the roof?
You be damn glad they are there if you ever need your roof replaced... out with the air chisel and away it goes. You end up with a much better roof replacement job in a far quicker time.
cheers![]()
Can't wait to pick him up. Impulse Blue like the pics. Shame I couldn't get it with manual transmission.
At least now I can send sms while taking corners.

I have one on order also. It has been ordered since the 5th May. It is Phantom Black with HBD L series wheels. When I ordered it, I was told there was one for immediate delivery. Then I was told, sorry a mistake has been made, it will be 4 weeks. The 4 weeks turned into the 25th June. Now I'm told it will be the 27th July.![]()
I have been so looking forward to getting this car, but now all this waiting is just really pi$$ing me off! I just wish Holden would get thier act together.
I was told my wait was due to the fact that they are ramping down production of the VZ and are tooling up for the VE. The way it is going, the VEs will be on the showroom floor before I get my SVZ.
Has any one else had to wait for their car?
good choice with the sv6/8 tail lights - they will make it look heaps better. the standard lights dont go with the spoiler at all. although, are they the same size? look at the tail lights on the svz and the sv6 and the sv6 lights look to be a bit smaller. it looks to me like there is a larger space between the bottom of the light and the groove in the rear bumper on the sv6, if you get what i mean (i'll attach some pics).Originally Posted by darksidewa
