    Hey Guys,
Well as apart of the numerous changes to the Just Commodores site we are now looking at taking it up a level or two and expanding to bigger and better things.

Anyway to fill you in what has been happening behind the scenes we are looking at taking a company onboard which will generate both more traffic and users, the end result being both of us are more than happy.

The company which we are looking at taking onboard we will be organising an online shop for where members as well as people outside of the site can buy car components, accessories etc at a much better price than what your retail outlets or even specialists places can supply them for.

I am interested about any ideas or problems you guys can for see or any reason why you would not buy from a shop we are looking at putting in place.

The shop we are looking at putting in place supplies the following as a rough guide. Tony also offers other services obviously which we unable to supply online but have been listed here anyway.
HSV Surplus StockEngine ComponentsSuspension ComponentsCustom Brake PackagesRoll CagesBody KitsInjector Cleaning & SupplyEnging RebuildingManagement SystemsThe list goes on...
Any questions at all please free to respond to this thread and Tony or someone else will answer them.

I guess now the biggest question is do you think this is a good idea for both Tony and ourselves to join together and get this happening or not? We are after any feedback whether it be positive or negative, everything here will be taken seriously so feel free to say what you wish.

    Cheers
    Darren

I personally found that when i first started looking to buy online I came to this site for advise on those purchases.. i think we need to make sure that the people doing the selling don't throw in biast advice... I mean we all have different opinions but we need to make sure people are not giving their opinion to push for a sale....

But other than that I think it is a great idea.. I'm up for cheaper stuff.. I know I am looking for a bodykit and a few other things as we speak..

    Cheers,

    Robbie

Very good point Robbie, we will endevour to give as much choice as possible and room for feedback and product reviews done by members after a product has been fitted or used. A narrow view would be detrimental I believe as well. I am talking with a body kit guy at the moment, will keep you posted.

    Cheers.

For me being in Queensland makes the postage factor come into consideration especially if it is a bulky /heavy item.

That's very true.. there's nothing like paying more for the postage than the item itself... Bu I have found postage for normal sized items is pretty gppd up and down the coast... I am right in the middle here in Newcastle so it makes things a little easier.....

We are working on flat rates on a per KG for all of Australia, will be very competative with you local suppliers. Sample a set of Alloys and tyres to QLD will be $60, that's less than fitting and balancing at your local guy. They come fitted and balanced and if they are cheaper than you can get local you have had a win. That price would be attained by a formula and the same as if they were going to SA or NSW OR WA. The QLD delivery might be $70 and the SA $50 both members win and we all save. Sounds a bit comunist I guess but it is why we are discussing this now to see how it can work. It is up to you guy's to lead the way with ideas and suggestion. Better than being dictated to by most suppliers.

    Cheers.

I dont know. I can see it not being 100% what others want, but it doesn't matter. I can not see it being 100% cheaper then some places though. I think it makes it cheaper if your buying a few things and couldnt be stuffed shopping around. It may appeal to people when they know a part is cheaper from the on-line store, then say at VPW down the road or something.

I myself, and its no disrespect to the site, wont buy anything just to support a site, if the parts may be inferior or the part I want is dearer etc etc. If a part I buy goes bung who do I go sick at, for the bung product, the site, or the owner of the online store. If the on line store has brand name stuff and can beat whomever all up on prices then yeah I will buy, if it turns out dearer to get something from the on line store then I wont.

So at the end of the day. If the goods are dearer and inferior then it doesnt matter who you are, I wont buy them.

I think most people feel the same way as you lock smith bit its like any thing if you have more choices then it is good like, you have the choice where to shop the more shops the more cometittion and varing prices.

My comments above had too, (thanx guys) be done from a consumer point, so I had to go into how I would be in consumer mode, which also would make it hard, and would sway ME not to personally purchase from a on-line store that had to do with a forum I was a part of. I wouldn't like to push the issue on things I would have no hesitation if it was say Autobarn down the road. I think due to the slightly more personalness that the forum gives you, over say Autobarn down the road, it makes it hard in the event you ever have to be ascertive. It's like working for your mate, its a little harder sometimes, because you have to go into 2 modes and it isn't always easy.

I believe that all things in life deserve a go.......

I also believe that the www.justcommodores.com sight has now started to get a very good name for itself...just look at all the new members that have signed in. What I'm trying to say is that providing the partnership does not cause any adverse reaction towards the site it can only be good.

It would also be advisable that the sight does not become one-eyed with whom it sends its members but at the same time does not become another www.ebay.com in the process.

Most of the members (especially the new ones) come to the sight for infomation and advice. If this infomation includes where and how to get parts etc, especially if they are cheaper, that is great, provided it does not distract from your original ideas and it still helps those out there that need the help. The momment this stops will be the time when the site fails...and no-one wishes for that to happen.

just PLEASE make sure that the site remains an informative one where anybody can get the help and advice that they have come to need and love.

Kind regards and hope it works well Guy.

well, good to see, i have known about this shop for a while now, personaly, the hardest part is gonna be getting people to use it. it goes with the teritory, if you have good stuff, people will buy from you, no mater on the cost or anything, i know, i have bought some stuff from car places with a good reputation, and been rather happy. i for one, am all for the shop, but like locksmith said, i woutn just buy for the sake of suporting a site, if it has good parts, i will buy, but if the parts' are of a better quality, and are a little bit more expensive, i will still buy, im more for quality rather than cost, cost isnt a factor for me.

this will be a wonderfull thing, one of a few sites aroudn with it's own shop. we can now only make it work

    cheers

YES YES YES YES YES !!!!!!
Being up on the Sunny Coast, getting ahold of some good bits, like the bodykit choices, can be difficult. If guys like Tony can set-up an online store, "The JC Shop", I'm for it! My only issue would be a method of payment other than credit card, as I dont have one, and wouldnt put it on computer if I did have one.
As one of the other guys mentioned, Tony's prices compare quite well.

Oh well, enough bullshit. Just a YES please!

Yeh I agree, direct deposit is the best as its fast, accurate and its all in both bank records so very easy to chase up a problem.

I'm not trying to sound cocky, or typically teen smartassed, but:

Yes it's a good idea that justcommodores opens a store section//teams up to open a store.. I was going to mention to you (darren) a while back about it, but I took into consideration the cost into setting this up.

You should make it, if possible that the more active users are on the website and forum should get somewhat discounts. Also, I've seen on a different website (www.cdcovers.cc) where they host competitions for uploading content, people who upload the most content get a prize. Would be interesting and add bonus points on the entertaining side, if users post current news about HSV/HRT/Holden etc, the most accurate//popular//number of posts wins a certain prize, weather it be a can of WD-40 to a item of a car bodykit, or a free tank of fuel..

Any idea is a good idea I guess.

(edited) I just thought of this: If the idea goes ahead, would it be a good idea for every (EVERY) purchase to come with a print out of JC's aim and purpose so the user can maybe show thier friends, which will result in hopefully more decent users, and with every purchase a bumper sticker of just commodores?

As previously mentioned, any idea's a good idea.

I ment a more old fashioned method of payment like a money order.
I've never used a direct deposit online, just the idea of putting the bank details online, thats all. If I see afew others that dont have security probs., then I'm in!

Darren, how about those bloody JC stickers????????

Don't like the on line direct deposit but the type where you have to go to the bank in person works great.
I was thinking of say a bulk order to save postage costs for blokes who live in capital city's to a central location.....too complicated?

I was wondering how the sticker situation was going too?

i think that direct deposit is the safest way to pay for things online
only takes 2-3 days max depending on which bank you are sending payment to and from.

    i agree with markovr
to save on shipping cost one member in each state could be the pickup address of the item you have purchased,

say once a week or fortnightly tony sends a parcel to each member in each state with the goods

then once the item has been recieve at pickup point the member is notified
and then is welcome to get item at a time which suits both purchaser and despatch

not to happy about your item going to someone else first and then not getting the goods.
the despatch person would have to disclose there details to admin@JC, JC Shop(Tony), and all purchasers of items...
and if you dont recieve your goods then it all comes down to the despatch person...

if you dont wanna give out your details then it not the job for you...
best idea would be to find someone that lives central of the state.
or if your willing to say meet the buyer at a half way point...

    wat are your thoughts ????
