    Default Just Commodores Competition

Well here we have it, the very first JC competition open to all members thanks to Tony and Paul over at Competition Engineering aka JC Shop.

    The Prize?
1x K&N filter to suit a Commodore ONLY

    How do you win?
It really can't be much easier than this, the member who refers the most people to the site wins over the next month wins.

To obtain credit for a referral simply get the person in question to enter your member name within the 'Referred' section during the signup form ie if I were to refer someone I would get them to put in Darren.

    Rules:
1- For a referred member to be counted as a referral they require a minimum of 2 or more posts.
2- All IP addresses are recorded by each individual signup so any attempt to dodge the system will easily be detected. This will be monitored closely during and whilst calculating the total referrals.

    Closing Date:
    9th July 2005 11:59pm (ACST)

At the end of the closing date / time the member who has won will be contacted shortly after along with a post in the News / Update section.

Just Commodores administrators are exempt from the prize however moderators are eligible.

If anyone has any questions which we have not answered in the above by all means pop something up and we'll explain in a little more detail where possible.

    Good Luck Everyone!

no offence but the prize really aint worth the hassle. I for one would rather spend my own cash then spend a month advertising for JC just for a filter.

Its easier to work at maccas for half a day!!!!!!!!!

Fine then don't enter!! $100 filter for just signing some mates up is a worthwhile cause if you ask me, that comment was uncalled for.

    Love your community spirit

I don't know about you, but while I'm only new to these forums I've found heaps of help, tips, tricks and good advice. I owe this community, and all they ask is that you let a few mates know about the site (which any self respecting member would be doing anyway? ). Getting the chance to win a $100 K&N filter while doing is a (very nice) bonus!

That comment I feel is a kick in the guts, after all the effort the whole administration / moderation team and the members themselves have put into the site over the past 2 years. I personally believe it deserves a little more credit than that! Nevertheless you have your opinion and I respect that.

To you the filter as a prize may not sound like much but don't forget some people are between jobs and don't have 10 cents let alone $100 to their name! I was once there as I'm sure most of us have been at some stage and know exactly how it feels. I see this as a chance for someone to get something they wouldn't normally be able to afford or is simply happy to give something back to a community which has helped thousands of people to date.

Please direct me toward something which is worth the 'hassle' then? I regularly visit other car forums, however unless my eyes are playing tricks on me I am yet to see any of them giveaway anything worth $1 let alone $100.

The idea behind this is to get the word about the site and build on our already growing community, there is only soo much a search engine or stickers can do.

i agree, also for the fact to get new members on to also share there knowledge with us all, im also signed into other car forums but find myself posting more on this forum then anywhere else. even though its answer other peoples questions, but thats fine. for a site to advertise and give prizes to members i think is decent, no1 else is doing anything like it and overall its helping the just commodores community

....I agree,,that sort of attitude sux.......I am also a member of several Holden forums, but "live " in this one...I really enjoy being able to assist people with their car hassles....and I spread the word about JC to everyone, reguardless of a prize, which, I honestly couldnt afford to buy meself..I walk up to people in carparks and tell them about JC..not the other Holden forums I go to......I have actuallly learnt from here too..... (so you CAN teach an old Rat new tricks....).. this forum has saved me soooooo many $$$$$$$$ .....teaching me to do things for myself.....I also consider a lot of people in this particular forum as friends....of which I don't have many of......having only lived in this city for a short time..... so if you don't like it, don't come here......and it was wickedly mean kick in the breadbasket for Darren and others, to have to read something like that......good thing they are real Aussies, and take it in their stride........

By the way, it caught me off guard as the original post was left dormant for 2 days until i replyed, and as soon as that happened bam, every1s here all of a sudden. Oh well i guess ur defending the site. and good on you.

    Hey Blu 5L Ute
I belong to another GMH Forum and joined this one cos a lot of the guys in the other forum are using Commodore motors,g/boxes , diff's and interiors etc. in their cars and thought I'd keep an eye out here for these parts and pass the messages on . Maybe some time it might be something you would like to sell.
It takes a lot of time & knowledge to keep these sites going .

When posting we have started a slogan before you "hit the Go Button"
Type your post , Think Twice , Post Once .. and don't offend anyone.

"Abuse it and you'll lose it" You've got a good site here , keep it going.

Have a word to the Paul or Tony who run the shop or even Garth might be able to help you.

Ive only recently joined the site and it's my first. First Site and First Commodore. I think that in three days it has saved me $60 in parts and a couple hundred dollars in labour. To Darren, all the admin and 99% of the users keep it up its great.
