the ecotec bottom end is totally differnt to the super6 bottom end.
yes everything bolts up fine, but if you put a super6 top end on a ecotec bottom end, prepare to let your engine detinate.

L67 motors go for around $2-3k

Stock ecotec bottom end will handle 6psi for years on end. If you want more, You'll need an l67 bottom end or totally rebuild an ecotecs bottom end.

Cheers

untouched buick won't handle much at all, maybe 6psi. think of the age, k's and general wear and tear

hey guys this may help some of you, i got my vs ecotec series 3 with a getrag 5spd out of a swb ute and it cost me 2000 from the wreckers, was lucky the car only har 128000k's on it at the time.ive since seen ecotecs goen for 1000 with auto's and about 1600 with manuals from other wreckers but mine was also missing a few parts such as hoses accelerator cables and someparts to chase if your doing a transplant into a vp like mine - make sure you get the O'2 sensors with the exhaust, the airbox with its sensor (vn/vp doesnt have that) and keep your tail shaft to swap one of the ends over cause the bolt patterns different .also get the KEY AND IGNITION set up of the vs otherwise some places will hit you up for 800 for a memcal remap without the security ring settings of the vs.otherwise theres an ebay guy that does the security removal and kwts upgrade for 160buks.
now i was wanting to know since im supercharging my engine with a powerdyne blower and bought a set of VS s/c teflon pistons of ebay from some guy that robbed em of the pins and gugeons if anybody knows where i can get a set of vs s/c pins and gugeons and also conrods from (if i have to gett he pistons again so be it) but i cant move forward woith the internals till i find the sily buggers so if someone knows someone thatd be amazing.barsby spares which has the parts in qld wants so much for em itd be better to buy a whole engine again.needing these asap so please help us out !!! cheers.
