i cant exactly remember was a while ago. vicroads sells them for $495 though

Do you have the transfer papers for the plates? Do you know how much it costs to transfer around $100 or so?

yes, I have transfer papers for the plates. I dont think there is a fee to transfer as they have never been officially assigned to a vehicle, as far as i can understand the fee is if you are transferring the plates from one vehicle to another not from transferring ownership. Therefor you shouldnt have any fees to assign the plates to your vehicle as They have never been assigned to a vehicle . If you want you can check with vicroads but im pretty sure.
