Well done on a quick sale.

For others info, the difference between VT/X & VY/Z is the shifter arm. The locating tab on the T/X series is directly up and down, from front to back of the vehicle, whereas the Y/Z series is offset about 30 degrees. This is just for the OEM gear knob.

Awesome, thanks mate. I was a little worried as i have a VX, and the item is from a VZ. HOWEVER, i have been running a VY gearknob for a few months. When originally installing i came across the 30 degree problem. At the time i had two choices... cut and reweld the gearknob, or be lazy and use a small nail jammed down the middle to offset the 30 degree offset (if that makes sense).

Luckily, im very lazy and used the small nail trick (ill take pics when i pull it out). That means, this installation should be a breeze.

I was also about to purchase one of these on Saturday morning... I got side track by watching the V8s and didnt get around to it. Then i saw this thread saving me $200....

There you go kids, lazyness pays off twice. Saves me $200 on the item, and having to reweld the gearstick twice. Awesome

You did better than me mate! I attacked my VZ Monaro gear knob with a 13mm drill bit and removed the locating tab lol. Quick hit with some loctite super glue and its never moved, but given the small amount i used, im certain that under a quick amount of tension it will come loose when i need it too
