yeah i got a few guys from my club interested to see what they look like
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
ok quick update there now going to b made out of highly polished new style checker plate aluminium or just normal aluminium your choice. Checker plate will cost $400. Pic will b up soon as i am having difficulty getting one.
HAHA to whom it may concern these are the final plans of the otr. im hoping that it'll b done by friday night so i can show it off at the kwinana show n shine dyno day!!!
How will these run with a maf ?
prototype is done!!!!!!
maf sits at the round end
how will the standard paper filter like the water stones and crap that it will cop?
also by the look of that design these will only fit wh statto's and vy/z models
"A life lived in fear is a life half lived"
any pics of these yet??
aha just saw the pics lol
yeh should do wh-wl statos and vy -vz's ok so with out a tune or any playing with the computer i chucked it on and the air fuel ratios are shit. THEN! this wonderful thing happens! it learns that theres not enough fuel from 1500rpm-3000rpm and learns to slowly add more. so being monday morning and i put it on friday night, its still in the process of readjusting the air-fuel ratios. but there is a definate increase in power right across the powerband. o the dyno day i managed to pull 290.1rwhp. thats with a dual 2.5inch catback and the otr.
hey guys bit of an update!!!
so far so good, especially with the wet weather we had ova here about a month ago. i was really suprised with how dry it stayed concidering the bottom of the air filter sits about level with the bottom of the grill. sitting in heavy traffic at 80km/h behind a truck in the wet, the front of the filter gets a couple of water drops on it but the inside of the otr is completely dry!
when we get the final design finished up (including mounting brackets so it doesnt smash up the front of the aircondensor radiator thingo like it did on mine) ill get some proper pics up. but when i get a fue seconds spare ill try get some pics of the one i have on my car.
other ideas that i could incorporate in to the design are a flap on the top so u can just slide the filter out instead of taking the whole thing off. taking the aluminium outer parts off the maf meter and have it so it bolts straight in between the throttle body and the otr.
will get pics up soon.
any comments and suggestions are more than welcome!!!
