edit: mostly the airport express is my best bargaining chip. if you have any laptops in your home you could be using better wireless with them, same with iphones/ipads etc. you can plug in a usb stick directly to it and it auto shares it on the network, can share music. paid $160 for it lol.

Whats your router brand and model? If you want you can use the airport to extend your current wireless network, this CAN be done on the old 802g but is complicated and the signal strength isn't that great. with 802n however extending the wireless network is very easy and provides great signal strength and speed. If you current wireless network is 802g, then it's time to upgrade (making sure your wireless devices are compatible).

Just post the details of your current network configuration, router model number, how many computers, cabled or wireless, etc and ill let you know how the airport can help you.
