OTHER INFO: My iPhone 3g. In near perfect condition. Kept in case for all of its life. Is approx 2-3 months old (i had it replaced by apple care warranty). There is no warranty left, but phone is in perfect condition function wise, battery wise and physically.

i sold a brand new 3g 32 gig for 500 could have got more but i sold it to a mate. 16gig were just under 1000 bucks in jb hifi

Mate your exactly right... I've been looking at it as well and basically I can flogg mine on eBay for the figures your talking and it will cover my upgrade cost to the iPhone 4G happy days!
