looks like the shifter plate is a 5 speed, would you be willing to just sell that since i've already got my centre console out of a HDT.

Not keen to separate - but it's a 4 speed shifter plate anyway.

Is there a difference between the two?

Just where the plastic is, 4 speed has the larger section on the bottom & 5 speed has the larger section on the top.
