I own a vy, I would have to change tailshaft to get it to fit mine and I just don't wanna go to that trouble.

locks the axels together, you will NEVER cut a single pegger unless you break an axel, but it also stops the wheels rotating at different speeds so in tight turns the inner wheel will "skip" or spin

Honestly? I don't really want a spool. I bought it because it was going to be a temp thing, but decided I would rather stick to my LSD thats tight and had no issues yet.
And from what I was told, to fit it, no matter what I would need the vt tailshaft.

I have a VY diff in my VX, AFAIK the only difference is the coupling was changed from uni-joint to rubber coupling (?), but that can be changed for dirt cheap. The physical tailshaft is the exact same.
