    Default 173 High compression head

Gday guys, i've got for sale a 173 High compression head which came off my Vh commodore, valve stem seals are a bit leaky, but apart from that works a treat. I've just put a 202 in my car so i have no use for it. Cheap performance upgrade for a 202. It's advertised on ebay at the moment and bidding starts at 50 dollars, if it doesn't sell on ebay i will sell it to the highest offer over 50 bucks. Cheers, Rhys

Yep will bolt straight up to a blue 202. Only issues u might come across is the thermostat housing as it's a bit different on the 173. Not sure wat ya get with the head, but if ya get the thermostat housing with it ya should have no probs.

I'll go out a bit later and take a pic of the 202 and 173 heads we have and post them up here. It's nothing major just something u should be aware of.

As for performance, well I'm not too sure coz we didn't really test b4 and after we chucked a 173 head on our 202 in the skidwagon. But with that said, the skidwagon had a stock 202 with extractors, 173 high comp head with crow valve springs and that lit up both wheels (it's got a welded diff) on the spot pretty easy. Personally I doubt it would make a huge improvement, but it's one of those small things which add up.

For $50 ya can't go wrong...add an extra $5 for a packet of valve stem seals and maybe buy some of that special paste and do a valve regrind then you'll be set. Maybe pull it down and get it all acid dipped then put it back together......well I'll shut up now lol
