Hey there just wonderin if the wiring harness in a vy with ls1 has the same wiring loom as the 6ltr's?
Not sure, probably not, the 6lt has a drive by wire throttle body, but you could change that. and some LS2's have the 54 tooth reluctors on the crank.

Can't use LS1 computer must use E30 due to different crank/cam reluctor setup. Can't (to my knowledge) use a cable with the E38 ecu, may be possible but would depend if there is a model using that ecu and operating system that has a cable to use as a tune start point, would require modified operating system and retuning if possible. Can use LS1 ecu if change reluctor on crank and cam gear. Will also need to change injector plugs on loom.
I use EFI Live and regularly check Holden Crazy which is the tune file repository and have not seen a cable tune for the E38, there maybe a US model, sometimes the trucks ran cables later than the cars, perhaps an LQ9 operating system if one exists less fly by wire and retuned to suit.

Is this actually an LS2 or is just a Gen 4 L76?

Well it seems I've been jipped, I was told this motor was an LS2, I have not had it out of the box till today and it seems I have an L76 not an LS2. Sorry for the claim that it was an LS2.

Have someone who may be interested, but $5500 is quite high. Would you take 4?

Does this have a 24x or 58x reluctor wheel? You can confirm by checking the colour of the crank angle sensor behind the starter motor. Black = 24, Grey = 58.

Actually you can run a LS2 with an LS1 computer and loom. All Panels and Parts in adelaide are using these in a conversion kit they have designed for retrofiiting LS2's into any commodore of any age. Due to the cost of buying brand new computers for LS2's and the like to run them they modified the LS1 loom and retuned the computer to run quite well, and these cars are passing a roadworthy no worries.
Unsure if they would sell these seperatly or not as they were keepin how they were doin it pretty quiet for a while.
And you do have to change the drive by wire to a cable which is any easy change.
