Looking to swap or sell my 253 holden blue motor, it has a stage two three quarter cam, bored 40 thou, all rebuilt new gaskits done 5000 kms since rebuild, pulled out of car and sat in shed and a v8 3 speed auto. i know the guy that had it before me painted it with it together ill get some thinners out and clean it up before it goes he didnt want to pull it apart again with new gaskits, and re do it lol a bit of thinners or petrol will remove it

You sure it's a blue 253? I know it's been rebuilt, but wasn't it only the red motors that had the double barrel stromberg on it? The blues had the quadrajet? If u rebuilt one ya wouldn't really down grade/go backwards...

Can the OP post up the engine number Prefix and the date stamp if possible.

here are the details i bought it like it is with the manifold single strommy etc allready on it, the engine number on the block reads VR2045 so can someone tell me what it is please thanks

Ya might be ok, I rekon up to VR10**** were the reds, and anything over was a blue from wat I can gather.

VR Prefix is a 253 from a VB-VH Commodore.

Ahh I didnt know there was a Red/Blue change over in the V8's, but never given it much thought to be honest.
