pictures saving as empty file!! help please

hey guys, i have a fujifilm s2500hd digital camera, and as of late the pictures have been saving as empty files that can't be viewed, and when you try to look at them through the camera it either comes up saying "read error" or the camera has a hissy fit and wont even load into the archive section

what do you think is going on?

corrupt sd card?
maybe try formatting the card on the camera

yeah, shoulda posted to say it was fixed, i called fujifilm australia service centre and the guy got me to reformat both the sd card, the internal memory and then reset the camera, worked a treat
