yay! thanks man!
im a bit worried they are 4x4 wheels, but will see when they are fitted. quite a high sidewall (75) but i am told they are limosene tyres, not off road.
75 side wall, #### me...
Yeah they're not off road tyres, the tread doesn't roll over far enough.
You need 3" more white wall though.
Dude, WTF?? Seriously, white walls? And here i was thinking you were normal...."marginly" better than white lettering though.
^^^ thats what i was waitn' for... i must say a lot less flame than i imagined. there was even a hint of compliment in there![]()
Not much point in giving you a right old flamn' now is there? You've already spent (aka wasted) your hard earned on them.....Whatever floats your boat i guess. For me, tyres are BLACK and BLACK only.
well i had a tough time deciding on tyres. i do like whitewalls, but i also like FAT rubber, the missus decision was final. but at least they are 235's, the average white band in OZ in 205/70/16
yeah but imagine if they were 205's! i cant get a scrap of traction in the VK with 205's this thing would fail everywhere![]()
Hey ari, just wondering where you picked that up, im really keen to get myself an impala to work on just to keep myself out of trouble.
there is one on ebay that i would be more than willing to go halves on. there are a couple of part i want off it but dont want the whole car:
Chevrolet Impala 1966 - eBay 1940 - 1970, Collector Cars, Cars, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 29-Sep-10 20:02:27 AEST)
or i could pay the most part and you the rest. i need the bonnet boot and chrome trims
possibly, ill keep an eye on the auction and let you know.
my savings arent to big at the moment.
also if you get stuck for parts, a mates dad is an american car and part importer.
Great thread Ari, I've read every post and its interesting witnessing the highs and lows of a build. I could never imagine doing something like you've done myself, but your thread helps live the dream.
All the best with the finishing of this great car mate.

This side doesn't look as bad as the other side does it? Or is it just all that dirt/earth matter hiding all the cancer? It won't matter that its oil canning now you're a pro, you can fix it
One, thing, please tell me you welded those holes on the other side up and didn't just bog over them?![]()
no i just bogged them up. cant be frigged with risking more oil cans, and bog does the job just fine.
