Pontiac had their own engines but I think for the Australian market, they might have been fitted with small block Chev's up to 327. I'm pretty sure the '68 Parisienne came equipped this way and it was getting towards the end of Pontiacs being sold in Aus. They only continued for about another two or three years out here. Some had Pontiac motors - as stated, up to 400 c.i.d. but these would be very rare out here.
Edit: Just saw Nemesis etc. post re Wikipedia. At least I wasn't too wide of the mark. Forgot they were built in Canada.

They were actually termed "bias-belted" tyres and they were real shit. They had very square shoulders and tended to tramline really badly along imperfections in the road. (That is, they followed the imperfection, tending to steer the car regardless of the driver's input). They had huge white lettering on most, like Goodyear Polyglas or Mickey Thompson and they had all the wet weather grip of a bar of soap.
They looked the duck's guts, though, and were very popular on HQ vans
and they smoke up like a mother..er
*grin* not that im into burnouts or anyting...
yea mickey T's do smoke good![]()
