when mentioning the word 'pro' in relation to a wheel it always conjures up the following wet dream
convo-pros...if you put these on i would fill my pants. *in a good way*
As much as i like Convo Pros, they need to be big on the rear, 10" wide minimum IMO (which you obviously won't get on the back of a HQ-WB without mini-tubs).
just to be different im gunna say put a nissan 6 turbo in it. lower it some nice wheels. keep the front thats on it now, it looks better than the twin headlight front.
"The mind is its own place, and in itself, can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven."
apparently wasting my time with 97 cubic inches
milk doesnt come in 1.6 litres
my geminis
There's only one good single headlight front in the HQ-HZ series and that's the HQ (infact, it looks heaps better than a HQ twin headlight). HJ-HZ, twin headlight shits all over the single headlight.
remove them strips along the sill asap. they are the devils child. ask my hz panelvan. put it this way. those strips were my sills. still a good buy for the 4 poster, dragwaysbig factory aircon, and geniune ss steering wheel
Ok, i stand corrected. I'd still rather proper GTS rims though...![]()
just wondering if anyone can tell me how to lower front end?
first time looking at this sort of setup.. thnx
king springs...
coil compressors really help, so the spring doesnt take your face off. but yeah, leave the wheel on (if you can) take your shocker off undo the lower arm then jack the car up slowly and as you do itll let the spring out. if you take the wheel off or take the top arm off first, the spring will shoot out at a million miles an hour thusly removing your face. not fun. i cant remember the EXACT way to do it, but once you look at the suspension parts it should all makesense.
(i hope)
edit* oh block the lower arm first![]()
You will be lucky to get spring compressors in there.
1. Support the car chassis on an axle stand. and remove the shock absorber/wheel
2. Crack the ball joint
3. Support the lower swing arm with a jack and then undo the ball joint nut totally
4. Slowly lower the jack and the lower wish bone will swing down and the spring will drop out
Just do the reverse to put the new lowered spring in there.
Reaper
thanx for that guys,
just didnt want a spring shooting out
i know this thread is a bit old, but i love the car mate!
any updates on it? im only a p-plated and i have a wb panelvan, i love these old cars!
oh and i think the solid wheels u were asking about are the centreline auto-drags, bloody nice wheels! in the process of looking for some for my van!
anyway keep up the good work, good to see another p-plater with a good sense of style when it comes to cars, not these other young fellas driving round in non turbo skylines and stuff lol
cheers
wow been a while since i been on here
thanks champ. exact same thinking with you there.. too many imports around this area
well car is off the road atm. getting a respray, interior changed to white. decided to just put a blue fuel injected 202 in, cammed, exhaust, extracted and heads. airbags soon to go in
Nice, im a big fan of people trying different engines rather than chuck a bbc chev in everything. You can get just as good performance, for less, and be economical if you be creativeThen you have something that is different than everyone elses that stands out.......
Just my opinion anyway![]()
2JZ in it? hmm now thats a thought, would crack along then, and its different
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
my mother once told me "if you cant say anything nice about something, dont say anything at all"
but in saying that, i guess i did say something![]()
wait, what?
What happened to this thing? interested to see what stage it is at?
wow haven't been on this for a while. just running around trying to put a new 202 in and just found out they changed the laws so might try and get a turbo setup for it or something
