so from where i left off..
brought it about 1 year ago... i think it was the 20somethingth's
thought the project was scrapped and we were getting rid of it so i removed the thread.
but now dads had a sudden change of plans..eh

DECONSTRUCTION
we replaced this whole section of the car with the side of a doner car.. had photos.. cant find them though lol..
believe it or not the other side was fine lol.. looks like alot of dogy body work to me tho...
that brings us to this week.
it had been sitting out in the weather for months probobly.. so me and my mate rolled it back into the garrage and started to pull it apart to rub back
our brand new brake disks were covered in surface rust and the valipers were looking just as shit
i think we score some new calipers so thats a bonus
so during the week i rubbed it back and we re sprayed the chasssis
then today we fitted the engine and box to the chassis..
so the todo list from now on in is:
Fit new diff
get custom tailshaft made up
Rub back body and spray
rub back all other pannels and spray
fit to chassis.
re wire the entire car
design custom dash (including interior)
get interior made up
build tray
get a road worthy check to see what we need to fix
get it regod
ill get new picture when photobucket decides to work -.-
um radiator, radiator support pannel, engine, gearbox are all bolted on.
got new new diff along with a hz gts dash....brand new in gm boxs.
just need to get the tailshaft chopped up.
got 8 origional gts wheels
another gts dash (not new)

we got a new ute... ground up restored hz ute
hz statesman front, gts dash, brand new interior
were putting our high compresson L34 spec motor in there with a manual box.. i think?
put some gts wheels on...
fresh respray in electric blue...or royal blue.. i have NFI.. but were gona re paint it.
the ass of the ute has been widend.. cant tell unless its next to another ute though.
and it has a fibeglass tail gate wich im allready sick of.. and wagon rear bumber..
both utes will be on the road eairly next year.
yeah... its painted..
Putting cab on and dash in this week
Then putting the doors on then putting the guards on,
Then the front pannel then the bonnet
Then sand it back and paint it all again..
And paint it again.

all 4 brakes fully rebuilt....
something changed to the fronts.. to make them better.. or something IDK.
timing is set, and got rid of that electronic dizzy ari hates so much. now we have some humungous dizzy.
thermos done, trans cooler is fitted.. the dash is painted got all the carpet.. got the seats.. i think? we have like 6 seats dunno what we are using though
new center concole... got a electronc fuel pump havnt fitted it yet. reco altenator is going on tomorrow.. appently.. wiring loom, brake booster, heater core all going in this weekend.
in the middle of designing the tray and whats hidden under the tray..
then firing it up and making sure all works..
doors guards bonnet and front bar going on next week then sanding the whole thing back and taking it to the spray booth for the final coats..
then taking it to the exhaust place getting a exhaust made up (will go on before the tray)
then building the tray and fitting it,
and then getting a roady.
Even though no one cares here's some color on a spare piece.

wiring is getting done atm
doors and guards bolted on when the wiring is done and then we can sand it back and tow it to the spray booth for out final coat of paint...
and we got a differant clear for the final coat.. appently its one of the "best"
and the blue ute now has engine and trans bolted together and ready to go in
white ute were putting the front end back together and selling.

ok.. encountered out first serious ####ing piss off of this build
the right hand side of the car (if anyone remembers) we had to completly cut off and weld on a new peice (where the line through the car goes)
and well.. its been put together a few mil too high.. so we have to cut out the section of the freshley prepped and painted body and re fit it so it fits..
no piks.. to pissed off.
that sucks mate, but just think of how good it will be driving it when its finished, ground up rebuilds never go smoothly

They cost 200 more becuase to get ADR certificaiton they've had to pass various safety-related testsand be built to particular standards..... the ones that aren't approved either haven't attempted, or have failed the ADR testing procedures/requirements.
... All of this really makes SFA difference if you never have an accident etc, but it could be the difference between being paralyzed or not if you get rear ended at the lights
The chances are slim, but you should be aware of the risks before you make a decision either way.
