roughly how much power are you getting at the treads?

also how is it compared to one with an 8, as far as performance and handling? id assume its a touch lighter in the front then one with an 8 does it handle any better?

Was getting 200KW at the treads before the cam swap. Not really sure what it will make this time, just have to wait and see.

Can't really answer your other question as i've never driven a V8 Torana believe it or not. However, as far as performance goes, i'm tipping it would take a pretty strong 308 or 355 to beat it.

200kw is a pretty decent number, itd give a most LS1 commos a good run id think.

    any plans for more power?

    Yeh, the cam swap

That will be about it as far as performance goes for this car i think. My rough calculations put it in the 11 second 1/4 mile bracket, so it will be fast enough for a genuine street car IMO.

11 second quarter is plenty fast enough some people are a little power obsessed IMO.

You win the opportunity to watch 295 wide tyres on 10" rims get squeezed under the back of a hatchback Torana (without going the easy way and bolting a set of flares on).

This car (or any Torana i ever own for that matter) will never see a set of flares. I reckon Toranas actually look better without flares, i like the body shape just the way they are. I'd much rather move the tubs inboard than put flares on.

Anyway, made some measurements tonight, should be able to get the 10" rims under the bum without too much trouble.
