    Default Cammed LS1 LX Torana

Will combine a few ongoing threads into one, apologies if events are missing...

Short history is i've owned this for around 5 years, second owner. Its factory 173 engine died in 91 and it was sent to Bill Lee (then HDT) for a new engine. A pretty wild 202 was installed but it hasn't done bugger all k's since. Has a HDT tag on the block and a few stickers here and there. I persisted with a 26/30 conversion but couldnt keep it under the bonnet so sold all the bits off and went the LS1 route. I have recently bought a hatch aswell for a future project

    Rough specs:
    Cammed/headed LS1 from DVLSADVOC8 on ls1.com.au
    Performance wholesale heads (cnc ported)
    Comp cams 54-448-11. (238/240 @050 lift 112 LSA and 605'' lift.)
Usual DR chain, YT roller rockers, pushrods, springs etc
DTM (Dimoff) TH400 built for 1000hp (800 realisticly)
    B&M Megashifter
    ECU/Loom (Modified by sideshowperformancewiring)
Hoppers Stoppers 290mm brake kit (commodore stud)
Morosso high volume sump/pickup and camaro windage tray
    B&M Supercooler (the fanned version)
TCI Flexplate suit TH400 with ARP bolt kit
    MSD Starter (part #5096)
    TUFF mounts
R31 BW78 Diff (courtesy of DISTRBD)
New 3.7 Diff gears and romac spool (kaaz later on)
    Allfast converter (3700-4000)
    Custom 4-1 pipes
Twin 3" to cats then twin 2.5" to rear
    044/surge undercar
    Modified SLR cluster
Optima yellow top and trickle charger
    Tailshaft (Final Drive)
    Radiator (Browns)
    Koni Red adjustables all round
    Lovells lowered springs
Full race bush kit, new tierods, new balljoints, extra steering knuckle etc

    Needs:
Go to Browns to have radiator, fans and shroud fitted, Fuel system fitted, exhaust fitted then to SQP for balancer change and full tune. Then a few more niggly things and ill get it engineered.

Leaving for its new temporary home

Nice and cosy in its new temporary home

Removal of damaged doors and bonnet/hinges

Engine and box is finally out so i can start getting stuck into making the bay all nice and clean!

Out with the old in with the new!

    Early photochop

The VY R8 rims suit quite fine for now, i'm set on pro stars when its up and running

THE ENGINE IS IN.......... #### YES

I also done a test "align" of the VY R8 rims

    mmmmm export

After much ****ing around the Hopper Stopper big brake kit with commodore pattern is fitted... put the VY R8 rims on to!

Nice project. I'd love to get a nice tidy LX sedan like that to have as a daily.

I have to disagree on the wheels though, they just look all wrong. Each to their own though i guess. Will look perfect with the Pro stars on it though....

    Keep the updates coming mate.

Yeah out of all my spare commodore stud rims these were by far the best

Some pursuit rims could make their way on while i save enough to justify custom offset welds

SL hubcaps, Sunbird is offensive haha

Opinions on 15x4 and 15x7 ceptors?

Its still currently registered and the plan from the start was engineering which is why alot was different and/or custom (i.e no crs/cae gear)

That is one awesome ride. The LS1 engines are a ridiculously simple engine to fit to these Torries. I wish I never sold my LH Hatchback (sob)...

LH Hatchbacks do exist, but only something like 3 of them

I been watching this build on GMH, be a nice car when it's done.
