Default El wagon turbo project (super stealth)

Hey guys just putting up my new project i have a 96 el wagon with a sad 4 litre faded painted stocky
so i just went and got a AU motor with 87xxx kms on it for $550 will get it in a week or two when its payed off.
The idea is to have a super stealth car that will run mid 11's

    Engine mods to be done:
AU motor (deposit mad only $250 left)
Strip motor get bores honed and block cleaned and put back together with all new gaskets, rings and bearings
Mod sump to fit in el
    GT35/40r with a external gate and .82 or 1.06
wastgate (not sure yet proberly pro gate 48mm)
650cc injectors FALCON FUEL INJECTORS NEW 650 cc EA EB ED EF EL AU NEW | eBay
bosch 044 or wallbro 255 fuel pump and surge tank
    BA LPG rods
Stock AU pistons with 3cc taken out to get 9 comp instead of 9.6
    ACL race series bearings
    Big oil cooler
Maybe head work just port and polish
off the shelf wade cam most likely
    J3 tune and dyno
    crow cam valve springs
Snort stage 3 intake or ill make one
exaust will be made by exaust power in bairnsdale (matt the owner does unreal work)

    Inside mode:
    Ba wagon seat
Batterie in back (half way there got cable and box)
    head unit (done)
    new speakers

    Paint and body
Nothin keep it faded and little dints through it :P

will put pic of the beast up soon

    Sounds good mate

That motor setup sounds ironically the same as Kris' PSI POP and thats making 500rwhp. Its a great combo one thing i recommend is head studs though they tend lift once you get to about 14psi.

Ideal setup for these cars looks like you've doen a bit of research they'll run 11's everyday like that

in what way? how much do you have to mod the sump to fit them into an earlier falcon?

The crank has bigger mains and big end journals also has a girdle from factory the sump is alloy and stronger and also has side bolt mains much like the ecotec. The rods are also stronger and ba rods an pistons fit in. The heads had smaller valve stems better rocker geometry. They also come standard with a multi layered steel head gasket.

On early e series Ed and before only needs to grind the webbing off the front of the sump to clear the crossmember on Ef-el you need to either cut crossmember or the front of the sump to clear

Ari 35/40 with 1.32 rear housing would be best for you be looking at about 2000 for genuine ball bearing Garrett I think you'd be better looking ata borgwarner turbo as they'll be cheaper but still good quality

lol, just joshin' bro. but was a serious q bout the turbos. am *looking* at turbos to power the 454 and all the ar's seem to be a touch on the small side. was kinda hoping you had found a cheap (used possibly) option, looks like pub answered it tho.

any plans on suspension work to put that HP to the ground? how are the diff's/brakes/shocks/sway bars in these from factory?

Nah im having trouble finding a cheap turbo and pubs idea sounds alright
I want to lower the back 3" and lower the front, with the leaf springs it handles like a boat around the corners. Atm brakes are all brand new and good but once power comes i will have to find a upgrade. Also will put in all new bushs but thats later on

I was at WSDW the other week and a bloke was telling me the FG Falcon Turbos are pretty good... He had one on his BA which had a flash tune (what ever that is) bigger injectors running 27psi and claims he was putting down 500kw... Prob was talking crap like most of the peeps at the drags....

Either way he ran early 11's on a spinning pass.
