cheers mate, hopefully it'll come out how i have it pictured in my head haha, thinking of doing a couple of old school chev emblems embroided into the back seat to, plus cup holders in the centre armrests that pull down.

like the leather job you got done on your vy, nice clean job, where abouts you from?

very much down to the car. an original 67 4 door could go for 22k. but could also go for 8k. depends on the condition and how much a buyer will pay. the thing us OZ delivered owners are facing is the simple fact you can get a coupe in the states for under 12k landed and registered. so that decimates our values. a 4 door 67 in the states is around 4 or 5k and then add 4 or 5k for shipping and compliance, you have a 9000 dollar, registered, road worthy LHD impala. BUT you might get a buyer who refuses to drive a LHD, which makes ours slightly more valuable, but harder to sell.

but 65's and 67's are still passing through ebay for 17k. 66's for 12k

thanks mate deffinately is a bit more of a head turner than the vz, should come out good

just focussing on getting the house built and all that sorted, then start saving for the interior, or just chip into equity so i can get it asap
then decided on a 454 bbc

so have had a good bit of fun with the power steering bracket cracking, and blowing the pump.

the engine has seen better days, service and a retune soon will hopefully help it along a bit, aiming for a blown 502 bbc conversion to start late this year

mine spun the pulley shaft right out of the pump. easy fix though, go to the wreckers and look for an early ford XC, XD, XE pump. the pulleys are only about 3mm shorter than our stockies. i spaced my crankshaft pulley with a couple of washers. the fitting for the hpressure feed will need to be swapped over and youll need to use the XC mounting bolts cos' they are metric, but itll bolt into the old pumps spot.

i did a bit of it in my thread a while back. ill see if i can dig it up. cheap fix. cost me about 25 bucks plus fuel.

edit: here: my 66' impala hardtop :)

sorry boys not much has changed with it, just a nice scratch someone left in my door from a carpark, and bit of an update, on the weekend #### knows how, but managed to pop off the harmonic balancer while i was driving which slipped the power steering belt off as well as the water pump belt, so am gonna be having to have a look and see if it's done any sort of crankshaft damage, or if there was any engine damage done, the engine did get pretty hot as it mustve dropped it all at the lights and i didnt notice till i saw the temp rising quick and almost had a heart attack trying to take a corner to pull over, could be just the motivation i need for the big block

haha sounds fun, my mate who used to be a mechanic said he should be able to get his hands on the tool to fit the balancer, so hopefully he does, i like the beer part haha

will be getting new powersteering at the same time as the old ones seen better days and a good excuse to maybe get new engine dress up and give the bay a proper cleaning

    Bikini car wash?

Yeah you don't get that with my VT... despite how well it's been looked after... I mean my girlfriend once attacked me with the hose when I was washing the car, but it's really not the same experience.

And man, that car is looking goooooood. How's the interior coming along?

hahah yeah loved the car wash mate, hell i even had random girls out n about ask if they can wash it for me hahah honestly i've never had to wash the beast, well not alone

thanks mate it's coming along quite well, interior on the otherhand isnt haha, moneys been a little tight with the first stages of my house being built, just waiting for that to all settle down, i'll get the motor right and fixed in the meantime then soon as the house is done i can sink some serious coin into the interior then a little further down look at paintjob and new engine

so just a bit of an update, have been doing a bit of work her lately, at the moment stripping a bit of the engine down to replace/upgrade it

will be changing all the engine dress up, a new power steering pump and bracket, as well as a new harmonic balancer and hopefully a new radiator as well

i'll get some pics this weekend of the damage that's been done to the power steering pump/bracket as i was a little shocked at how severe it was

anyway heres a pic of the engine bay at the moment

    and the radiator

and heres a bit of a pic edit just for shits n giggles, add a bit of the cars era to the feel of it
