first things first we had to take care of a rusty engine bay:

this is the owners idea of "fixing the engine bay"

this is how i fix engine bays:

and yeah, thats a holden 186 :) the diff is a 9" ford diff too. previous owners contribution. car is on LPG but the "tank" is a big BBQ bottle you get from elgas or someything, and i doubt itd pass rwc...

anyway, behind most rust you will find dirt of some kind:

the rust in that panel was so extensive i cut it out completely and just left a hole. leaves and crap will just fall through the hole now, yes itll mean the bay gets filthy, but it wont rust again. useless holes welded up, wobbly panels smoothed out:

some hi-fill.

at first i didnt approve of the colour, but its growing on me:

so then moved on and prepped the nosecone/rad support i was tempted to buff this up and hit it with some glisten-PC, but the owner was adamant about the red:

so it went red:

if you wanted, just to keep it original , try to get a V4 engine , which is what some Transits came with , or a V6 from a Zephyr for some real mang .
