Default VL Calais with 190kw Alloytec transplant

    Engine: Transplanted Alloytec V6 190kw

Exhaust: Soon to be twin from turbos back

Suspension: Pedders all round very low (fronts to go in soon)

    Wheels: 17" VZ Calais wheels

Modifications: None really apart from the engine

Stereo Audio / Visual: none yet

Estimated Power: atm 190hp at the wheels soon hopefully after turbos and gas around 400hp+

Hey there, this is my current project. Wanted something different to every other VL transplant out there. Its all mounted up at the moment and soon I will start wiring it up and welding up the turbo manifolds. I am actually hoping that i can get it all on the road for the powercuise 7. Hope you like.

Started on the wiring today, went pretty well i think. As you can make from the pics I installed the vz electrical accellarator pedal. and than ran the loom from the vz to the left of this and up through into the wheel well. Then cut a hole where the infamous commodore dent is near the battery. And exited the wheel well and hence where the vz fuses are sitting at the moment. I reckon the will fit there pretty good and especially when i get some brackets made up.also hides alot of the extra wiring goin through the wheel well.
I cant seem to find a vz dash for this thing so i am just leaving the standard dash but using a vz cluster, so the original vl wiring is stayin. Makes the job a little easier now. Hoping to by next week be up to the point of being able to start it. Not far off really though there is no exhaust on it. But would be a sigh of relief if it started to let me know i dont need any more wiring.
Next couple of days will be spent doin the fuel pump, fuel lines to the engine, plugging everything on and finding a place for the alternator(kinda doesnt fit between the engine and the rails :b: . The VT upward are a little wider in the engine bay. No doubt i will be postin more up about it so u guys wont miss a thing

Working on it for a short time again today and got it to wind over and throttle working aswell. Was a good relief to hear it crank over, only wish id had the fuel pump and lines connected, would have been better to hear it run for a couple of seconds. Oh well theres always 2moro. Main things left to do is sort out placement of the alternator, Connect vz loom to vl fuel pump, Connect cooling system and get the 2 tailshafts joined. oh and make up the turbo manifolds. Alot of small things to do that will take time but not necissary to actually drive it for the first time. Will keep ya all posted.

Well I picked up the Exhaust Flanges today. Hopefully getting some mandrel bends in a few days so i can start cutting and piecing together the turbo manifolds. Comming along kinda smoothly now. Just a money factor right now since work is a bit slow. But should all get there soon. Going to start the process of relocting th ealternator since it doesnt fit between the engine and chassis rail . So i will keep yas posted when some more things happen, And i will get some more pics up soon, of the manifolds start to finnish.

Oh and i went to that other forum that only deals with rb motors. You know who i mean, and found a whole thread on my car that some1 started. Hehe I feel kinda special now . Quite surprising there is only 2 people there that dont like it. Maybe they are just jelous.

Looks like a great project, but an engineering nightmare.

    Good luck with it.
