Well we are new to the Commodore scene, but not very new to the Holden scene. We have a GTO back in the States and have done a lot to it. So since we moved down here, we decided we needed another project car down here. So we bought a VR Commodore on April 13th and plan on doing suspension (struts, shocks, springs, strut tower brace), exhaust stuff (from engine back) and who knows what after that. We have already run into a problem though: F'in lock nuts. So once this is done we can put our suspension stuff on. We like sleepers, so we will try to stick to that.
Holden in Australia:
1994 Holden Commodore Acclaim
- 3.8L A4
- No idea on kW
Holden in the States:
2004 Pontiac GTO
- LS1 M6
- Supercharged and then some
- At least 375+ kW (or if you prefer) 500+ hp

Love a good sleeper. Nothing better than a car that looks like it wouldn't melt butter... but which really puts those traffic-light heroes in their place.
Are you planning to drop her on super-lows? I've always thought that's about as far down as you'd really want to go. If you were keen on the sleeper look, you might even want to look FE2, or even some stiff lows with a few urethane bushes in the right spots. You should even dump the exhaust out on a stock-looking tip. Don't give anything awayThat's what I intend to do when I find the spare change to buy a cat-back.
If you're after some "cheap" power, perhaps look into getting some rocker-rollers with a higher ratio, and a good tune to suit. Strip a few unwanted kilos off your tare weight, and you should start to turn a few heads.
Let us know how it goes, and any ideas you get!
