Well, dad and I have pretty much finished restoring our gorgeous Holden HQ GTS Monaro, 2-Door.
Currently it's got a 308 slightly worked, and we've comes across the perfect motor to put it;
308 Stroked
Roller Rockers
Edelbrock manifold
3/4 Race Cam
Stage 5 heads
Forged Pistons.
For $500. It's perfect. Nothing wrong with it. It's barely done 1000km.
So we're gonna be pulling the old motor out, and re-conditioning the box shortly, and putting in the new weapon shortly.
Anyway, just out of curiosity, what do you guys reckon it should reach on a dyno, and if you're really skilled a Quarter-Mile run?
It's got a 4-speed Saginaw Chev box and a Salsbury 3.08 LSD.
I'll post pictures of the body when I've got some.
sounds nice mate, put some pics up, my old boy has had a few munro's in his life, his first car was a 4 door hq monaro with a beasty 350.
he has a 2 door in the shed incomplete, with a 454 block sitting out of it.
i want him to get into it and finish it so i can have it when i get off my p's hahahahaha as if!

I just haven't got a photo of it with the bars on.
That looks beautifulI love the HQ styling, I almost ended up with a restored HQ Kingy for my first car.
Looking forward to pics of the new donk![]()

Well, I'll upload some final pictures once we get the new motor in.
Take it for a spin, and try and talk dad into taking it to WSID for a few runs...and maybe even a dyno run.
I love Monaro's as I am sure we all do. You and your dad have done well
