    Default Tufluv

this is a my project ute, it going to be a fairly long term project.

    Name: michael
Model: isuzu 1979 KB other wise known as a chevy luv
    Colour: blue/rust
    Bodykit: stock
    Engine Type: g161z(1.6 litre)
    Engine Mods: stock
    Brakes: drums all round
    Exhaust: stock mostly rusted away
    Diff: 4.56:1 single pegger
    Gearbox: 4 speed column shift
Suspension: torsion bar front, leaf back stock height
    Wheels: 14" steelies
Interior: dash cracked, no carpet, drity headlining, bench seat
    Stereo: stock tape deck
    Other Mods: none
    Future Mods

    firstly for the body.
its fairly rusty so im going to have it stripped and the rust cut. i will be using the tub its going to be alot of work but i like the shape.
im thinking i want it painted two tone, dark green over light green.
ill clean the chassis up and paint it black.
im also considering having a sunroof installed

now for the engine and driveline.
at the moment im going to rebuild the stock 1.6 litre.
as for future plans ive two things in mind
    1. a 253 build tough to rev with a carby turbo setup
    or
    2. a 304 once again build tough stroked to 355
im consdering going for a T56 or a T5 id prefer a t56 but dunno how ill go fitting it
the diff i think im goingto swap out for a either a commodore or hilux one and get some decent diff gears and LSD

    now suspension
i still want it low but i dont think i want to do bags.
im thinking ill get reset leaves in the back and at the moment i have torsion bars in the front which i think im going to take out and do coilovers.

    interior
the interior i want to keep oldschool looking it currently has a bench seat, i want to swap it for two bucket seats in black leather, ill have black carpet and headliner redone dash ill have a decent stereo but all hidden or made to look oldschool.

so what does everyone think? let me know

i've done that more than once. i usually use a magnet on an extendable shaft to get them out. only one i never got out was a 10mm socket that i droped down an oil gallery in a falcon.

well today ive had a minor breakthrough, a bloke has 3 engines out of geminis he wants rid of along with and 4 speed manual and an auto, so i went and had a look and he said he only wanted a slab for the lot, ****IN DEAL. i have 5 speed ready to go in so im pretty happy with that.

apprently one of the motors had a blown headgasket, one is of unknown condition and one is a reco with 20 thousand on it.

pretty good day am picking up motors wednesday night

yeah might end up with an SR yet, still undecided i would like a V8 for the torque and general awesomeness of a V8, SR might be more achievable.

i figure buying an SR is going to cost quite a bit, a V8 would be cheaper to buy but fitting maybe not.

but for now a stock 1600(reco) with a five speed floor shift should be enough.

yeah but say goodbye to fuel economy, its had a stock carby rebuilt so ill be using that, I'm tempted to put an SC14 on the 1600 using a blow through setup, or maybe a turbo. I have 5 of the 1600's in various states so anythings possible. I'm more interested in getting the body up to scratch and getting it on the road.
