Ambush catches soldier with pants down, wearing pink undies

A SOLDIER fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan while wearing pink undies has made front page news in the US.

US Army Specialist Zachary Boyd, 19, said Taliban militants launched an ambush while he was asleep so he had no time to put on his full uniform or boots.

So he grabbed his gun, body armour and helmet and headed into battle with his legs and boxer shorts exposed - a moment captured by an Associated Press photographer.

Spc Boyd called his parents in Fort Worth, Texas, to tell them he was going to be on the front page of the New York Times.

"I ran to the computer and looked at the New York Times right quick," Spc Boyd's father, Tommy, told WBAP.

Seriously, who **** keeps such bright clothes in a pack while serving? Even on exercise you minimise un natural colour because it has and will get you killed in the field.
