Default have you read the herald sun

Hi , how are we all today . I woke up this morning grabbed the paper and a coffee sat down to relax , and BANG , i am hit with a bunch of tools in the paper going on about how they love being classed as hoons, that they will defie the police and continue to act like this . I am a 23 year old male driving a "hoon" car i dont realy agree with people street racing and bragging about it . It really just makes the rest of us look like idiots also , seems to me that these guys are just going to cause car enthusiasts alot more grief please feel free to vent your feelings on this in here . I for one feel that these people need to be off the road , they were seen to pour oil on the road , and drive there car straight at the crowd .

hey just thought i should post a link for all the interstate users
    http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sto...4-2862,00.html
there was a video aswell but it seems to have been removed

Also for those of you that care or read my last post and had a go at me , please note i have attempted to spell and use punctuation

Police need to work with enthusiasts to remove these brain dead parasites from the car society, this is why the dob in a hoon hotline is so good, its just a pity many abuse what it is there for.

Most police are clued on and realise many people who are part of car clubs and do not behave in this way, sadly though, its easy for innocent people to be caught in the wrong place at the wrong time around these wankers.

The only other problem is that some car clubs consist of the same hoons as described. I hope the other clubs don't give everyone a bad name.

Yes i agree , its a small group ruining it for the rest of us , take the noble park riot for example , this is 5 minutes from my house , I and every one else that i no thats is into the car scene was not present on that night , there are still regular drags around my area . I cant belive that people are dumb enough to actualy say the things they say in the paper , or that they are dumb enough to pose in photo's .I think that the issue needs to be addressed and a place set up where people can get out there in there car and have some fun there are places like drag tag we have easternats once a year . I think we need more , but nobody wants to listen they just push us to the side and label us hoons , killers, idiots ......etc .

What do you mean how would it? Its how it IS being abused. Ive had 2 visits from police, one for a guy ringing up the hotline because I was tailgating him. He failed to mention the only reason I was tailgating was because he would go from 20 km/h to 80 km/h and back down again. Pretty hard to not end up like that close behind a drunk. The other was for overpassing an old fart in 60 zone who was doing 30. Both times, was the same HWP officer, both times we laughed at how much tax payers money this is wasting. Both times he had a list of 4 pages of people he had to visit to tell them the same story.

That is how it is being abused.

I don't see how its being abused. From Nanna's point of view, you ARE a hoon. You drive a Holden and are male. Yup, sounds like a hoon to me.

Maybe someone needs to define hoon before such a system will work.

SA just has dob in a moron driver, and works excellent. Had a guy decided to overtake 4 cars doing 110 over double solid lines, luckily all 4 of us rang, so they were waiting for him when he got home with the fine.

yes it seems that the word hoon is thrown round to easily i think . all tho i have heard some examples where the "hoon" driver realy did need to be dealt with , some times i think they need to dealt a harsher penalty than they actualy recive

some of this is due to western suburbs drags on sunday nights, and all through the week. I get sms's all week about meetups for "drags" and "burnouts" in the western suburbs.

melbourne really needs a strip like WSID, it wont fix the problem but it will help.

yes we need something over here in the s.e. suburbs , but they will not allow sandown to be used not even once a month , the residents leaving near there complain and complain , but i feel that maybe they shouldnt have bought a nice new town house backin onto a race track if they dont like noise. Thats just my opinion but , dont take it the wrong way . I think we need something built a bit further out near pakenham or bunyip , i am willing to go pay 20 or 30 dollars for a day of skids and what not but imnot sure how many people feel that way it seems alot of people are happy doing it where ever whenn ever

Defntley need something out this way, though it wont happen. It needs goverment funding and people have tryd to do it, but I dont think the support/money is there.

Sandown is another issue, I hate when I read the local paper after easter and half of it is people complaining about easternats. Now come on its once a year, what about the v8's that race at sandown they make no noise?

Is that what you use to report hooning? In NSW that line is pretty much like Crimestoppers, for things like driving tends to be pretty ineffective.

What a crock of shit, I am so tired of hearing "we need a track out my way" blah blah blah. How about you use the road what its there for and not use it as a personal race track. Calder was open for many years, bugger all drive from the western suburbs yet still there was problems.

Fact is, the attitude of these people is the biggest problem, not the lack of tracks. The sooner the government start giving out much harsher fines the sooner people may pull their heads in. I am doubting it though, the attitudes of some of these people rival the mentality of a 3 year old child.

minux , i do use the roads as intended , that is what most normal people do , you may note above I said that these people should be giving heavier fines and longer confiscations. Dont give me that crock of shit about needing a track out my way , ive been to calder it was over priced and i just wasnt a fan there are many issues in my eyes , but all the state , local and fedral government wants to do is label us all the same and not try coming up with any solutions , i am sure there have been many proposals put forward but they are all just canned . So minux do i understand that you feel everyone should be punished and no solutions put in place to help ease the problem , would you not back a plan for a place to have some fun with your pride and joy , I n=know i sure would , but you are just voicing your say ... fair enough

Calder was overpriced? What you expect them to LOSE money so people can have fun? Business is not about going broke. The government is not here to provide racing facilities for drivers, if proposals have been canned there is usually pretty good reasons as to why. I don't see how everyone is being punished though, almost the entire population uses the roads for what they are intended, there is only a small minority who want to be idiots on tax payer facilities. If people want a place to be idiots, there is myriads of track days all around Victoria, no doubt though they expect to do these for free, which once again comes back to the mentality rivalling that of a 3 year old.

i excpect nothing for free but they complain about p plate drivers so often , we dont all have the funding of a race team or of a company that builds cars . all i say is that there needs to be a place to go . by no means do i think that the facility should be tax payer funded . it saddens me that there are people out there that behave like this making every one look bad , it also runs through my mind that the people that i made the post about are the people that would not even use these facilties . I my self would i know several other pepole would aswell but then there are the idiots that just continue to ruin it for us all .

to deter them why arent they made to do something like, clean up oil that the put down on the road , work with a road crew to repair the road surface , visit hospitals and see the victims of major road accidents , be shown wrecks of young hoon drivers that ended badly . im sure there are many options i just hate the fact that in the end the minority ruin it for every one and turn the government off the idea of providing solutions

I'm not a P plater so I don't give a shit.. and I have never ever been pulled over and 'harassed' by police. I think half the toolkits out there who say that they get picked on and pulled over for no reason are actually full of shit and probably try and drift their VL around every corner they come across.
