Sounds like you were lucky, but I'd get the tyres fix up real quick - next time it may not be so lucky and need good tyres to save your life.![]()

geez that would be a first the last guy he pulled up musta slipped a greenback so hes all pleasant, yes we know there all on the take lol
LOL, i copped a speeding fine, got the speed recorded reduced and he mentioned my wheels but let me off. That wheel he pointed to was well below legal limit. Definatly, be nice to them and you'll be better off.
Weird, i almost got pulled over today (yes there was a reason, no this is not the time for it), cop was in front and used my knowledge of what they do and tricked him into taking a "turnoff" off the freeway that i had no intention of taking :P Guy behind who thought he was going to be done by my car followed the undercover cop and probably got pulled over by him instead![]()
I was pulled over twice the other weekend.
I was going to drop my brothers dog off. I was RBTed and he did a quick lap around the car then I was right to go.
I dropped the dog off and was probably there a max of 10 mins then left.
I turned onto the main street from the backstreet and straight away knew the car behind was them, they followed me to nearly my house before pulling me over again, same thing.
I was kinda freaked out and was thinking wtf? The only thing I could think as to why they did it was because theres another guy (a few houses away from me) who has almost the exact same car, green Ps and even his number plate starts the same that drives around like a tool with his subs blaring.
I just thought It was weird to be pulled over twice...
oooh yeah ive already crashed her once partially because of these tyersSounds like you were lucky, but I'd get the tyres fix up real quick - next time it may not be so lucky and need good tyres to save your life.
i really just posted here to show if you not a **** head the police arent gunna be so harsh on you and yes i was fully expecting a defect lucky for me i didnt get one still gotta et it fixed might not be so lucky last time.

A first? A first is a P plater not acting all macho when pulled over thinking they are ABOVE the law. Many police I know all say the same things, todays youth think they are above everything and respect no one...I guess it explains why police pick on the younger ones so much these days, they make themselves such easy targets.
The OP< showing some respect using your manners etc goes along way eh?![]()

The VZ is here! About time!
What a stupid cop. He just left one unroadworthy car on the road posing a risk to other drivers. If i knew who he was i'd dob the twit in to his superiors.

Brake lights is a weird one, just look at all the vn/vps around... msot have very dull tail lights, and most dont all work.
I get pulled over alot, but thats due to me being mainly the only one on the road when driving to work, but yet the police still try and tell me its just at "random".
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Yet strangely.....it takes a long time for some people to figure that out!The OP< showing some respect using your manners etc goes along way eh?
So you had one opportunity where a cop was nice to you and suddenly all the other P Plater's in the world are wrong, rude, arrogant etc. etc.
Get off the boat mate, i've had plenty of cops that i say "sir" to (which i do every time) and never speak out of tern and still copped unnecessary crap from.
Good on you for not getting in trouble, just dont come back in a month when you actually do get a defect and try and sell your sob story.
The youth of today have it really hard with all the restrictions they have on there driving, hoons laws, power laws, engine capacity laws, occupant laws, RWC laws, testing... getting (and keeping) your licence is getting harder, alot harder... anyone >30 or there about has no idea about how hard it is today... Young drivers now are just as invincible as they were "back then" except now you cant get away with it.
aZk. (no, im not a p-plater)
As an older driver, I think it needs to be made harder now in regards to licenses, power restrictions etc. Before I get shot down in flames, it is because of the first cars available to young drivers now.
When I got my L's in the 70's, we only had to wait 2 weeks to get a full license (at the ripe old age of 16) - well before P's, log books etc.
However most of us were either still at school or earning $80-100/week. First cars for most people I knew were generally 10 year old Datsuns, Cortinas, etc. I would have loved an LJ/LH/ Torana, but could not afford one. GT XY's were grossly out of everyone's reach at $4,000 lol.
It was not as easy as today for youths to get large car loans.
I know the handling, safety and so on was abysmal compared to today, but you were only playing with 70 - 120 flywheel HP, and had to be a bit unlucky or stupid to get in trouble. By the time you had graduated to a more powerful car, hopefully your skills had improved.
Now they can go out and buy a cheap VL/VN - cheap because it has been flogged and not maintained correctly. As there is not a lot of money tied up in the car in relation to income, no big deal if you hurt it.
It also helped for us growing up in the country - whereas burnouts are now popular; we preferred spending time on clay pans and dirt tracks. Possible to hone skills in a low powered car without getting booked.
Anyway rant over - caveat lector - I did NOT say all P platers are hoons!!!

last time i checked hoon laws weren't just for p platers.
i do agree on the point where its getting harder and so it should, more experience with night driving and wet weather driving is needed.
never had an issue with police when i got pulled over whilst on my p's either

no where in my post id i say that "all the other P Plater's in the world are wrong, rude, arrogant etc. etc." as you put it i said that alot of p platers come on here whining about how cops treat them like shit, and if i do get defected why would i come back on here and bitch and moan about it because ill just get flamed like everyone else not to mention how hypocritical that would be

I'm a P Plater and i can say without hesitation that a good majority of P Platers act like hero's on the roads....Not saying i haven't done some stupid things but its a fact p platers have more crashes, fast cars and no experiance... Therefore resulting in higher police attention. I you were a cop and saw a sus p platers car wouldn't you think to check it out... I Would, it would be my job...
I expect this post to be contested, but thats my opinion.

There is no such thing as stupid questions, Only stupid people.
I have been pulled over maybe 20 times this year But to be fair I leave for work at 3am and live in a semi rural bit of a suburb (ie long rd in no houses and burnouts and dumped shit on side of rd)get the usual where you off to see my uniform let me go.though duruing the week in my van they never bother me ,just on a sat morning wjen going to work in the caprice
