it all depends on how worked your gear box is.. im sure its pretty muh exactly the same as dumping the clutch on a manual.. if you want the same result why not go pay 900 dollars on a hi stall and purchace a trans brake.. once u release the trans break it will turn the tyres piece of cake...

i did it... before i knew how to do burnouts properly and snapped my first diff doing it... it does smoke up pretty well but you might as well just put it back into first and stomp it.. more fun that way too

I've done it once in anger in my VS 6 before a service on the box. Got into a brawl at the shops and was in a hurry to leave cause my mate who was with me didn't want the bastards who started us for no reason followin him home, he's got 2 kids who don't need it. Anyway, limiter, 1st, stood still for about 3 seconds baggin both on the spot then crabwalked outta the car park at about 5000rpm. Good skid, bad for boxes

haha yeah my VL used to love and done them all the time until i had some work done to it and now she smokes up ine in 1st so i dont need to anymore...as for damage i still have the same gear box and it works fine

Been in a mates vs exec when he did this, don't know how the auto tranny survived his torture. All in one day he did the following:
Accelerated to 100kmh, then knocked it from D to R. Wheels locked up, engine stalled. Apparently my "YOU F***ING IDIOT" didn't get through to him.
So he did what? He did it again. Tranny still going, not a hitch.
Then he rev dumped it a few times, on gravel. Would've been running at maybe 4.5k when he did it?
The car is still on the road, and running. No idea how, without a new transmission.

When i first got my P's my mate used to use his parents Magna 6, we neuteral dumped it all the time and it never had a problem. One night with mates watching i gunned it in reverse then slammed it into first then held the hand brake up, it smoked up really well and drove fine. another memorable one in the magna was infront of a mates place on a steep hill he let it roll down the hill in neuteral, red lined it then slamed it into first, dug a hole in the road and delaminated a tire. To this day that car still drives fine. We test drove some falcons EB, EL etc and we neuteral dumped them and they where fine.

Nice thread dig. Had a mate who did the whole neutral to drive thing in a lancer. Sheered the input shaft into the gearbox. Even the tranny place couldn't believe it.

Can't say my old Commodore ever got neutral bombed, but it did go 20km/h in reverse then put into first with a flat foot. Didn't sound to healthy but the 150m right tyre mark on the road was interesting.

I did the same thing in my old VY V6 just for s**ts and giggles, needed a new trans anyway, which i put in before i sold it

Used to do it to my vp most the time. Blew 2 autos and one of them was also shift kitted. Converted to manual now so it's all good

My cousin did this in his Magna. The engine needed to be replaced. The mechanic said the whole engine had been forced/jammed back from the force.
