Our national broadcaster has reverted to using txt language on screen now, for instance they use TON=tonight TMW=tomorrow LTR=later and NXT=next.
Its obviously there to attract younger viewers but what about elder viewers who 1. haven't ever txt anybody 2.never even owned a cellphone.
Do you guys in OZ have the same problem with this?
I also read that in NZ students can do their exams (excluding English and Science) in txt language and its acceptable, what is wrong with us today? almost ashamed to call myself NZer
sounds like a stupid idea to me.
using the abbreviations for texting is ok but why should it be included in everyday life?
another example of dumbing down the world
maybe the people who put the text on screen can't spell and this is the easiest way to overcome it
I'd say its in order to look "hip" and "cool".

I think that I'm getting old, as I'm stuffed if I understand text talk. I'm getting better at it, didn't someone on here write a list of what the abbreviations where a while ago.
Yeah well this world is turning to shit, doesn't suprise me that retards use text talk as normal language now.

I'm the same dude, hence why my phone bills are a little larger than most. I use my $350 worth of free calls / text because most of my messages are 2, 3, or 4 messages long due to not abbreviating.
But i dnt txt all dat much now tho, but thnx 4 noticing, itz gr8 m8 lolz.

nah, have you ever been in a room when there's a sudden lull in the background noise and everyone hears one person say something really bloody stupid? picture a physics lecture theatre with a good 80/90 people inside and all of a sudden there's quiet and L-O-L comes drifting up from the back rows... only for 80-90 people to turn around and say "what the f*ck was that?!?"
