    Default How loud's too loud?

I've been yelled at before because my systems too loud in my subdevision. I have just got a new eonon stereo. I really enjoy playing hip-hop and rock loudly, make me excited! Im a new i can deal with that. But cruising down the main road today i had it loud, however i like it. Theres a guy in the turning lane when im going straight who honks at me, so being an idiot i honk back as i cruise by. I get back from the store and he pulls up in my driveway and tells me he knows people and im "gonna get it" my question is this...Do you guys think it needs to be turned down unless your the only person on the road? I keep it down in the subdevision cus i know its not a good idea but on the main road? Thats going a little far IMO.

I personally think that if it is loud enough for other motorists to hear then its too loud. Have a bit of consideration for other drivers, theres also the safety aspect of it, if its too loud you aren't going to hear sirens etc. If someone beeped their horn at you because it was too loud I have absolutely no doubt it was way too loud.

It makes me laugh when people drive past with all their windows down and the seats laid right back and the music up so loud that everyone can hear it. I don't think they know how stupid it looks really.

There is a shit for brains down my road who drives a Skyline (the old square things that shared the body with the Pintara in the late 80's).

He likes doof doof and plays it so loud, you can hear him coming from inside our loungeroom, about five seconds before he reaches the house.

If you like it that loud, you will soon need it louder, because your ear drums will be located about six inches closer to each other from the sound pressure.

maybe they yelled because they thought if you had to have the music that loud then you must obviously be deaf.

i would say that it's too loud if anyone outside your car can hear it

I'm with you, when they're partially deaf at 35, I'll be laughing my arse off. Too bad they won't be able to hear me

However loud you want it. I don't get why people get so worked up over other peoples loud music when it doesn't really effect them.

I don't play my music so loud that it makes your ears bleed because I prefer it semi-loud so that I can still hear all the noises my car makes and the cars/road around me.

I have mates that play there music so loud you can't talk inside the car but that's their choice.

do what makes you happy, not what makes other people happy. people need to stop bitching. not only about this, but about everything. it's as if your loud music or exhaust is somehow affecting their life if they can hear it when they are driving next to you. it's all bullshit.

If you were playing metal or rock at least i'd say yea go for it, otherwise no :P

In my VR i had music always cranked unless someone was in the car, never had any trouble by the cops and saved some idiots who went to change lanes when i was coming along their insurance excess... Kept my vehicle safer and saved me time off the road from morons that dont do headchecks.

But you must remember music does sound different outside the car, i drove through broadmeadows going to my gf's (at the time) place, rocked up with ACDC music blaring, apparently it sounded like Arabic music :S Although that gf used to like turning up the music on certain songs much higher than i had it! She must've been deaf!

BTW, if he's threatened you saying your "going to get it" make sure you report that to police. Tell them you dont want it taken any further but for it to be down on file. That way if something happens they will get looked at.

Whenever there are other cars around I always turn it down. I figure I have no right to force everyone around me to listen to the music I like.
On the highway/long trips I usually have it cranked coz even if another car goes past they will only be in earshot for a split second.
In areas like the city or chapel st etc I find myself turning the music right down so that I don't look like one of the other tossers cruising down there

I would think the music isn't too loud when you hear the other car horn (Unless it was a Train). That then would be when i suggest its likely to be a tad too loud if you couldn't. Like anything there's a time and a place.
Im probly wrong so dont listen to me

haha, seems most of you feel uncomfortable for the louder guy, definitely in the highway I dont care nobody else. Except obsession for music, actually I wanna it loud to prevent me from falling asleep, and for another, it's still honeymoon with my new little Eonon stereo, I like it very much, maybe its kinda fresh stuff to me and showing off. lololo~ However, I won't refuse your good suggustion, turn it down in the crowd, but I'll still enjoy when few people outa there like in the highway or when in the midnight(if possible). Life is short! Let me get freedom sometimes!!! Don't you think it's a good idea?

why dont you people just close the windows? Can still have the stereo plenty loud inside without it being overly loud outside the car.

i like my music loud, i think others should deal with it, i deal with SUVs and 4wds at work that never have and never will go off road. To me thats annoying and a waste but i dont go telling them that because i just gotta deal with it people need to harden up.

but if you were doing it at 4am past my house i might have a different opinion theres a time and place to do and not to do stuff.

I personally have the stereo up loudest on the highway, fairly decent on main roads, and fairly normal on other streets. Stereo always goes right down at lights and in residential areas. I do keep the music up and window down when I have just worked a huge shift its night and I'm driving down the highway, I don't care how many dirty looks I get, those are the only things keeping me awake.
What I don't understand is why people insist on playing loud bass at 3am around residential areas. Seriously it is damn annoying. 1. Turn it dwn, 2. Get some damn sound deadener.
