Default idiots on roads - whinge, long winded.

Well coming home tonight on the usual, long hilly stretch of road ontop of the mountains i always travel on. Its mostly deserted late at night when i travel, but it can be dangerous there has been many accidents/deaths on it and it was wet, its also a 100km/h zone.
Coming along it i find a 95 white sonata doing 80k's with a old 97ish white vectra stuck behind it. No biggie, i'll wait till over taking lane and ill overtake them. I gets to overtaking lane and pull out and start doing 95k's and as soon as i get next to the sonata he speeds off with 4 people in the car. So i think wanker and pull back in. Now sonata slows back to 80 and holds me up again and he thinks its a great joke. So i manage to get past them and i take the lead and do my 100k's while he swerves across lanes and tries to overtake me again, but i block him in. He stays back now and then i notice the vectra come speeding up the overtaking lane and pull in front and then slows to 80k's, thats when i realise they are together and he also has 3 or 4 mates in the car. So all sorts of games happen now where they try to box me in and pull me over, brake checks ect and it was becoming very threatening to me by this stage.., but not being in the mood i simply call their bluff and swerve into them and force them out the way as they clearly didnt want me to damage their cars as much as i didnt want to damage mine, but i was in the mood too if they didnt move. Finally i get past them and hold them both behind me and i stay in the right hand lane. Next minute i see the vectra come racing down the inside lane in my rear vision mirror, and i recon atleast 150k's he was doin. Being really pissed and threatened by this stage i pull in front of him at the last minute and see if i can really scare him and get myself a new car all at the same time. He couldnt stop in time and i can hear his abs/brakes going hard and he swerves across the next lane and i also do the same in font of him to try and keep him lined up with my rear end, he keeps swerving over into the oncoming traffic lane(thank god no cars), which i wont go over too, he skids past then hits the gas again and gets in front of me. He tries a timmid brake check but it dosnt wash and i keep up him. Anywayz it s near the end of the road and we are near civilisation again. They gave up and turned off one way and i continued home.

But after all that i came out thinking that could have been real serious if they had pulled me over, who knows what their intentions were. Were they just shit stirring or did they seriously want to hurt me who knows. Im still a bit shaken by the whole incident but its just one of those things where you do what you think you gotta do at the time and i cant really explain to the cops now that i swerved at them and forced them off the road ect...

Well done if you read all that, anyone else have any dodgy experiences on deserted roads

I wish i did, but the way things were moving and swerving there wast time to think about taking plates let alone write them down

It always seems the way too, they car that seems to race me the most is a bucket of poo Pulsar SSS.

I think if I were ever in that situation paint and bodywork would unfortunatly have to come second to being mugged by 2 car loads of people.

I was involved in a high speed, high risk chase that started in Cranbourne. l was coming back from seeing the father in law in Phillip Island.. ended up at a set of lights next to a boganmobile - I think it was a lexcen or something (at this stage, I had a VU SS with Uterus sticker on the back).. I think they commented on it. When the lights turned green I gave it a squirt - no wheelspin or anything.. Next thing they're up my arse, following my every move, so I try get out of it, sideways around corners, running reds (making sure there was no traffic obviously) by this stage these guys were throwing beer bottles at me.. I got some distance on them on a major road, ended up seeing a cop go the other way, so I did a u-turn to follow the cops, these guys threw a bottle and it hit square in the windscreen.. I then proceeded to drift a roundabout behind a cop to get thier attention..

Similar thing happened to me and my mate a few years back. A car kept following us and they were yelling shit out (my mate had a few enemies), swerving for us. We didn't speed off down streets or anything, but as soon as I grabbed the baseball bat off the back seat and held it out the window they soon got the message and turned off.

Hey I think you should seriously call the cops and tell them what happened.

If that happened to someone like me I would have had no idea what to do. They could have killed someone driving like that and like you said what they would have happened if you pulled over. What happens if its a chick they do it to next time? I have been known to drive at all hours as designated driver by myself (obviously after I dropped the drunks off..lol)
You have scared me now.. I am deso tonight. Might get the dog to come for a drive.lol

You said it was a hilly road. They were driving slow-ass cars. When you got in front why didn't you just give it a squirt and leave them behind. Breaking the law but ****ing hell, it can't be any more dangerous than having a bunch of ****s trying to run you off the road.

Couldnt you have either like the guy said just left them in the dust, or simply stopped dead and just stuck behind them all the way. Id rather be held up then rammed off the road and possibly killed along with my car. This is why i always have a massive vice grip or something in the car incase this stuff happens.

Its terrible to hear some peoples stories on here, i honestly wouldnt think people would act that dangerous, surely if you have a brain you wouldnt do that, as their putting themelves at risk as well.

Well hope you are ok mate as to everyother person posting their incidents on here, and hope all your cars are ok! We wouldnt wanna hurt the lovely Holdens now (except the vectra)

I could have, but im not losing my license again for speeding, especially over some wankers - which was a long time ago on my P's with a story attached to it(but still no excuse). The road is patrolled regulary, and driving on it alot i see alot of people pulled up, it was also wet and many have randomly come unstuck because of the truck wheel ruts in the road that fill with water. If i speed then im simply breaking the law like them. Sitting behind them was not an option or they would have slowed right up and pulled me over, to do who knows what or possibly take my car for a joy ride and stuff it.

Anywayz im over it now, statistically its good as it probably wont happen again now for a fair while anywayz

Yeah what bloody little immature ****wits. I fully understand that you didn't want to do the wrong thing and be as bad as they were man and people like that want to test you and see your reaction which is ****ed not just for you but others on the road. You get all sorts on the road like that but what you said what they did is way out of line. People like that need to be sorted out and be placed in hospital. I know you can't sort every **** on the road but in a way you did the right thing and let it go. Which is hard to do! If I was in a 4wd trayback or something I probably would of played the game and ran into them. But it's easy saying that from a keyboard.

Did this all take place on Mt Ousley? If so, it's certainly not the place to be trying to pull handbrake turns or other clever tricks as suggested. Were you heading south into Wollongong or north towards Sydney?

I'm guessing maybe Picton Rd or Appin Road.

Seems to be heaps of idiots on that road at night.

Experienced a bit of that myself in that area.

Picton Rd, which T's off Mt Ousley Rd, and no its not the sort of place to be doing handbrake turns you'll end up in a nice tree or over an edge somwhere.
