If it's legal tender, you should be able to spend it like any other coin, however the point of those limited edition coins is that they become collectable and worth more than their face value. If you simply spend it or trade it for it's cash equivalent you'd expect to loose out of the deal.

legal tender or not, you'd be hard pressed to find a store that'd accept it as currency. most shopkeepers wouldn't recognise it and wouldn't accept it. i had some $5 coins for a while and even though they came sealed in a commonwealth bank sleeve, they wouldn't accept them at the teller counter.
i think i ended up giving up.
While I'm sure that does happen, technically if it is legal tender they must accept it as payment. It's against the law not to.

im somewhat interested and have the money in your account today/tomorrow.
do you have any and all documentation for it?
cant help you much with the coin, but what sort of fine is it? If its a traffic one no biggy they will just send u a reminder notice if you didn't pay buy the date giving you another 28 or maybe 30 days to pay, thats in nsw anyway.
ask to pay it in instalments, if they know your getting paid the day after it should be fine.
i will give u $101 for it and a pack of doritos.
can u post a pic of it i wanna see it or the egay link?
no i tell u what i will give u my ecotec engine and $106 and 3.3cents and half a cigarette DEAL?
AND WAIT THERES MORE! and u get to pull the eco out and transport it.
are you trying to be funny fuzz? If so you are failing miserably
OP maybe try some pawn brokers, or even better borrow it off your folks![]()
I had a reasonably big fine to pay last year (Vic), and I went in the day before it was due and said I might have a bit of trouble getting the money together as I'm a student. She just gave me a 1 month extention on the spot with no extra charge. You could always try that even though its already late
