I'd love to see cars getting crushed, a bit harsh but some guys deserve it.

im sure it wont. anyone travelling that fast has just been given that little bit more reason to put the foot down more and run away when they see those tiny red and blue lights flashing in the rear view

what a stupid waste of resources, and opens up a system that would be way too easy to abuse. cop doesnt like a certain car? just find that car a few times after it has done a slight wheel chirp, impound it, crush it for a stupid reason

no actually i was turning onto a hwy with a blind corner and there was gravel on the road from previous roadworks and i had to accelerate a bit hard as a car came round the corner fairly quick and i lost traction, as soon as it started spinning i eased off then realised the car that come round the corner was an unmarked cop car... i was always confident i would get off given the circumstances but apparently they wanted to make an example of me even when i had picture proof of the poor road surface and lack of tyre marks on the road

I'm with Jared impounding didn't and doesn't work all it does it put idiots into cheaper cars with no safety they are back on the road as soon as they buy/borrow another car

**** some people are so stupid! if cars keep getting impounded, it shows that what they're doing is NOT working. so what do they say? oh let's keep their car impounded for longer, even though our strategy has completely failed, we think the extra time will really make it work this time. it must be so hard for them to understand that some people like burning rubber and speed. nope, in their mind, anyone who does that is a trouble making piece of shit who deserves their licence and car to be taken away from them. "they're not right in the head, and it's up to us government people to fix these hoons because they are not normal". what a ****ing shit tactic. apparently you're not normal if you like this type of stuff, this is the impression i keep getting. why not tackle the problem proactively, and instead of trying to stop people from doing what they love doing (does the government really think they can actually change people?), try SHIFTING the behaviour from public roads to somewhere else? oh wait, that would be the smart thing to do, when has anyone in power ever done anything smart...

when they stop making money from fines, thell think bout something else.
think bout it, how much money do they make from fines for 'hoon' behaviour
then impound fines, transport cost, ect ect.
people slowed down when speed cameras came out, speed limits lowered.
they know they can make money, they aint gonna change shit.

You can't be serious. You pour thousands into your car, get it set up just the way you like it, then see it get crushed because of a stupid act, and it doesn't have any effect on you?

And then you get a bomb, or bludge a car from someone else (and who in hell would ever lend you a car after knowing you were such a shit driver that your own car had been crused) and go out and drive the same way again?

Impounding might not be the solution because ultimately, you get the car back (after extensive fines and impoundm ent fees, which you also have to pay).

Seeing all your money and hard work get crushed (and yes, part of the penalty is to be maded to watch it happen) has to sink in at least with some people. If it doesn't, you have a very serious attitude problem towards public safety and responsible behaviour.

kneejerk if it's impounded for doing 70 over?????? you are kidding right? What you are basically doing is condoning stupid behaviour like that.
30+ is one month, 45+ is 3 months (loss of licence) 70+ should be permanent and car confiscated and sold off!!
I have seen what happens to cars and people at high speed...... it's not nice

    • UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.

    • OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear.

    • HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.

    • TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

I had to remove the deceased from this vehicle....... it was estimated he was doing well over the 80kph speed limit. I can't say what the estimation was.

This is just one of many.........

I'll support it. Plain and simple. Pretty obvious why. Do stupid shit, have your car crushed or impounded. Blunt, direct and no bullshit approach. Should have done this from the start instead of easing in bit by bit with mild and weak little consequences like fines, defects, 24 hour impoundment etc.

Should have been harsh, heavy and direct from the start, then maybe some people would have learnt quicker by now.
