I run a small business, and I have a couple of customers who haven't paid their account. Amounts are not huge, around $250 - $350 for each. I have sent letters, statements, etc. I have rung, they don't answer my calls or hang up when they know it is me calling, or they impersonate someone else. I have gone knocking at their door, but when they see who it is they don't answer the door. I even looked into debt collection professionals, but they quoted me over $400 and said it was not worth their time. I would write it off as a loss if it was just labour, but parts where used, so would like to get paid if possible.
Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get paid.
Can I call the police onto them?![]()

if you have records of the "sale" then surely you can let the cops know and they can do something about it can't they?
Yeah, I'd go to the cops about it.
Either that or give me 50% and I'll go get it...

Cops won't want to touch the issue because technically it's not a theft or criminal matter. It's a civil matter. I heard of small claims court/tribunal. Might want to look into that.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!

You would have to go to the small claims tribuneral and see how you go. Last i heard is its a fairly simple process but basically if the customer still dosnt decide to pay after they are ordered you need to persue further which will mean solicitors and court.
Other option is you may be able to scare them, by seeing a solicitor and getting them to send a threatening letter about their obligations and the things you could do to them in court if they dont pay up. Hopefully they will pay up then, but it will cost you a little bit for the letter from the solicitor but it may be worth it just to see them pay.
hired goons?
carnt you hack into there computer and and unleash swine flu onto there computer. i just thought all computer shops new how to do that sort of things
honestly if these pricks are that tight that they are dodging you on a few hundred just go get them offed.
That would be a few less selfish bludger pricks in the world.
Since that would be illegal im obligated to say, oh only joking go to the tribuneral.
dont thats illegal and i dont want another infraction
Small claims court is your friend
Just pop along to your local court house tomorrow and they will give you all the details on how to go about claiming your money. Fee is small, and if you win you get that back plus your court costs.

just send them a very threatening believable letter saying that if they dont pay it will/may end up costing them more...say something like you will report them to veda advantage the credit reporting agency of australia etc..and they will have a permanent black mark on their name for 7 years and will affect any future finance they go for.. obviously in a much more proffesional and believable way...im sure there is template on google u could find.
