I guess you don't have Grandparents you care about. Bet if you did you would not find it funny if someone deliberately knocked them over. You would be baying for their blood.

I agree, bloody stupid thing to say. Elderly people are humans as well. Would be about as funny as someone "plowing down" your mother. Not ****ing funny at all.

good thing you put the word down after plowing, or that could have taken on a whole new meaning

    Gotta say... Awesome Thread!!

I try to stay clear of the elderly. Either their pricks or their overly nice. Can't stand either lol. Being nice is ok but overly nice is a pain. I used to work in IGA and had pension days or double point tuesday ... were all the oldies come in and shop. Anyway.. you have the oldies that come in and try to chat to ya for hours long and then you get the ones that argue, ask for discounts and just try to make your life a little more difficult. Either way... I try to avoid both kinds.

I do show my respect, I greet them and try to smile and look like I enjoy working while they are enjoying their day doing nothing and letting me know that it's a sunny day outside etc etc.

I give respect to people that give respect back.

Out on the roads, the oldies are blind and don't know the road rules. I think everyone say 50+ should have to redo their driving lesson ... but government should pay... this will decrease death toll and road rage. I bet you $1Million Dollars that 80% of them would fail!! But no.. the government won't do that ... not cause of insufficient funds.. but the elderly need to be active still even, though people die on the roads because of these people.

I always give the heads up if I see a speed camera, and amazingly enough, I always get the return. Which is a suprise because most people these days only think about themselves!

I really wish the elderly would have to do another driving test! The amount of rules that have changed since they got their license is countless.

    BTW, I'm 20.

Keeping active isn't the reason the government wont make the elderly sit for more regular testing, its because of the % of voters that age range makes up.

Not sure if this situation was because they didn't know the rules or simply coz they were self-entitled, but anyway...

Last night going out to get dinner, driving down a main street that is shared by pedestrians and vehicles alike; hence, 30kmh zone.

I'm driving through looking for a park, in this area there is angle-parking only, reverse-in only. So I check behind, stop, put it in reverse, and then this dopey old woman rockets up behind me and slams the brakes on, probably doing 60kmh+. Stops 50cm from my rear bumper, then looks at her passenger and starts a conversation.

At this point I don't have room to reverse into the park. She is too close to let me in, and seemingly oblivious to the fact that I have reverse lights on. I put indicator on again a couple of times with a few seconds between, she still doesn't get it. I reverse a few centimetres 3 or 4 times, she still doesn't get it. I'm even twisted around, looking her in the eyes and STILL she is clueless. Finally she gets this surprised look on her face, puts her car into reverse and moves back a metre or two. I reverse into the park, she puts the foot down and drives past in front of me, glaring at me like it's my fault she was a clueless old bitch.

As a side note; there were no cars behind the two of us. If there were I would have kept going, rather than hold someone else up because of this lady's idiocy.

I always get road rage incidents in Dapto when im going to the wrecker. Both times ive been down there this year some old bloke (60+) in a car way to powerfull for their frail body and reflexes to handle get offended by a red P plater changing lanes infornt of them with an easy 30m gap or using the left lane to over take. The best one was at the lights when i used the left lane to get around an old f*** driving a BMW he tried to stop me geting infront of him. I think among other things he must have realised how big a rip off his car was when its acceleration was flattened by that of a series II VN Execuitive, the old f*** was swerving beheind me pulled up along side me, put down his window and went nuts with abuse he then yelled STOP NOW! PULLOVER! whilst indicating to the side of the road so i reached over to the passenger side of my car where I have a mini baseball bat I turned up in woodwork at school just for these situations, i held it up and mouthed the word "yeah?" he calmed down after seeing that and i let him over take me.

Bitter old F***s need to realise that its not the 50's or 60's and that there are people in todays society who will gladly f*** them up for puting in there 2 cents.

You've travelled down to the wreckers twice, so you "always get road rage incidents in Dapto when you go there????"

So why do you carry a baseball bat around with you in your car, even if it is a mini size? "Just for situations like this." Good one. Why not get the real thing and really scare the shit out of people?

And I don't suppose there is any way you just MIGHT have contributed to the old bloke's anger? He might well have been a d***head, but he might also have had good reason to behave that way.

You're new to this forum. Perhaps you should feel your way for a while before sounding off.

the old or older folks around here are not too bad..... but i DO have issues with them on the road I think once you are unable to for what ever reason to do the speed limit!! it's time to hand your licence in!! i do a lot of driving on the highway, in my work ute usually..... and i cop a lot of "elderly" on the highway who think it's ok to drive at 80km in a 100 zone and bank the traffic up for kilometres behind them.
My fater in-law is one of them..... he won't drive over about 85kph.
There is a very old gentleman in town here who regularly drives his Daihatsu Rocky into town with equally elderly wife...... i shit you not, he DOES NOT get that thing any faster than 30kph!!!! The road from town to the estate where i live is about 2km (60 speed limit) and he has managed in the past to bank the traffic up for over 500 metres behind him
Reviled did i live as evil i did deliveR

    • OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear.

    • HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.

    • TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

The mini size is more practicle for what i want it for. A full size base ball bat is hard to shove under a car seat and you have to swing it around when using it, and i dont think i contribuited to his anger by over taking him, its fair enough to over take if i want to drive faster.

Sounds to me more like you are the one with issues here. Carrying a weapon to sort out the older generation after admitting you get into road rage incidents. You are pathetic.
